I couldn't sleep. Thoughts of Cam kept flooding my mind.
Is she purposely ignoring us? Does she hate us? Or it it just me? Did I do something wrong? What's going on?!
I sat up.
I need to clear my head. Air. I need air.
The rest of the guys were fast asleep in their rooms. Hobi snoring the loudest. I smiled, tucking Kookies blanket up his chin as I snuck out the door with my mask and shades in hand.
I tiptoed down the corridor, cursing the elevator when it made the loud dinging noise. As I was waiting inside, Royalty's song was on, just as Cams part came up. I stood there listening to her mesmerizing voice as she pulled me deeper into a mysterious realm.
It reminded me of when I first saw her. Manager-nim and the guys were watching the VMAs when I walked into the living room.
"They've slayed charts worldwide with their debut last month. Selling 3 billion copies of their first album 'Telesa' in just 1 week and landing several commercial gigs, then donated half of their earnings to charities, schools, and homeless shelters. Originally from the heart of the Pacific, here is- ROYALTY!"
The camera switched over to a dark stage with only silhouettes standing there. A deep base resonated as the lights came on. Three warrior-like girls stepped out, eyeing the crowd with their fierce gazes.
Hmmm. Not bad. I had thought.
They broke into a edge-sharp choreography that complimented their look very well.
"Wahhh! These girls are SICK!" V was on the edge of his seat.
"I know! Look at the graceful hand movements. It's like they're giving us a glimpse of the islands through their actions. Daebak!" Kookie applauded.
RapMon hyung tilted his head. "Her rapping skills are legit. Pretty deep lyrics. Whoever composed this song is a genius."
Hobi and Suga hummed in agreement.
"They did." Manager-nim had said.
Jin paused, swallowing his food carefully. "What?"
Manager-nim looked up at our confused faces. "They composed that song. And their entire album. By themselves."
Chips fell out of Jins open mouth.
"What?! Damn they're good!" Suga whooped.
I was reaching for the dip when I heard her part of the song. I froze, looking up at her soft expression. There was so much passion in her voice, it was in the air. Like it was real enough for me to touch. She opened her eyes, looking into the camera. Some people might find it corny, but I swear it felt like she could see through to my soul. Like she was singing specifically to me, and me only.
"Yah! Jiminah! You dropped dip all over yourself pabo." I turned to Kookie who was staring at my lap. Cool ranch dip was dripping off my chip and on my pants.
"Omo! Mianhe. Uhhh... I'll be back." I darted out the living room and into the kitchen.
Get yourself together Jimin! What's wrong with you? She's just another girl. You've had plenty to choose from, so this shouldn't be any different.
I was lying to myself. I knew because when I put my hand to my heart, it was beating faster than usual.
It's from the running Jimin. Get it together. I lied again.
From that moment on, I dedicated my time to knowing everything about her. But I wanted to do it in person, so I talked Manager-nim into getting us a gig together.
A month later it finally comes true, except I still haven't seen her face. She's making it so hard for me I swear.
The elevator doors swung open, letting in a cool breeze. I welcomed the fresh air.
You got this Jimin. You can do anything.
I nodded and went out to roam the city.
