The welcome meal wasn't as awkward as I thought it'd be. Mr. Han and Fred made sure it wasn't. They brought up something new to talk about as soon as we were done talking about something else.
It was fun. Except for the staring.
I noticed Rap Monster was always staring at Alex, and she made the point of ignoring him completely. Even when the poor guy would try to ask her a question about the topic we were on, she'd flat out act like he didn't exist.
And V was always staring at Val. Sometimes the food would miss his mouth, falling off his chopsticks and on his pants. The poor dude would look around to see if anyone saw, then picked it up and ate it anyways.
Jungkook on the other hand, would sneak shy glances at Ty, who kept her eyes on her meal the whole time. He sat right across from her, so it was kind of awkward for the two of them.
Me? I'm very observant. So sadly, I saw all of this.
But the most awkward of all, was Jimin. The dude was straight out staring at me, no shame at all. Sometimes, I would meet his gaze, and of course I'd be the first to look away. Because knowing him, he's a Libra just like me. He'd stare until he got his point across.
Point taken! I wanted to scream.
I couldn't handle the fact that my crush was basically trynna get at me. It was too much to take in. Especially with someone this fine.
"Right Cam?" Fred beamed at me from the head of the table.
I shook my head, trying to pay attention. "Huh? Yeah, sure."
I had no idea what he was referring to, but I didn't care. I was too uncomfortable to pay any mind.
The table went quiet. All eyes were on me.
Is it me? Something I said? What the hell did I agree on?!
"Whew! Okay, now that that's settled, boys clean up so the girls can unpack and get comfortable." Mr. Han said, breaking the silence.
The action was immediate. Everyone got up, gladly escaping the awkward scene.
I was making my way to the door when a hand tapped my shoulder.
Turning around, I found a happy Mr. Han.
"Oh, hey boss. What's up?" I asked casually.
He laughed. "Nothing. I just wanted to thank you for agreeing to the rooming terms. It was really hard for me to arrange this but you made it easy." He smiled, patting my head.
I cringed, smiling awkwardly. "Uhhh, right. What exactly were the rooming terms again sir?"
I was confused, so a little clarification didn't hurt.
"Oh, everyone else got partnered up for a room except you and Jimin. But there was only one room left." All the color in my face drained.
I panicked, dreading the next words that would come out of his mouth.
"So I asked you if you could share the room with Chimmy for the time being and you agreed, to my relief." He sighed.
Oh. My. God. I'm so f****d.
"O-oh. Right. I'm rooming. With Jimin. Yeah. Sure. No problem." I managed to blurt out.
The room was spinning, my head felt like it was gonna explode.
I fumbled for the door knob, frantically clawing a way out.
"You going somewhere?" He looked concerned.
"I'll be back." I managed before I ripped the door open, feet hitting the pavement.
I could feel his eyes burning on my back as I hopped in the car, a form of relief creeping up my spine as I turned the key. The roar of the engine was a little comforting as I pulled out of the parking lot, burning rubber as I sped out to the busy streets.
...
To be honest, I had absolutely no idea where I was going. But somehow, I found myself at the Han River, standing at the exact spot Vernon and I were at last time.
For some reason, I found this place to be relaxing. The trickling sound of the water calmed my mind, allowing me to think, even if it was for a little while.
Me? And Jimin? In the same room? What the hell was I thinking?! And FRED didn't mind?
"I must be outta my damn mind." I sighed, raking my fingers through my wet hair.
Suddenly, hands came from behind me. A black cloth was placed over my nose and mouth, stringed behind my ears.
"Damn right you are." The voice was male, and very familiar.
Panic rose in my chest when I tried to whirl around. He was faster, hugging me from behind.
"Stay still you moron. Papparazzi are all over this place looking for you." He growled.
My eyes flew open. "V-Vernon?" I whispered.
A chuckle. "No s***. Who else would save your a**?"
I let out a breath of relief. "God dammit Vernon! Don't scare me like that you a**!"
He whirled me around, slipping a pair of shades on my face.
"Then you shouldn't scare others by driving away in a hurry, moron." He retorted.
I eyed him. "How'd you know I drove off?"
He cocked his head to the side. "Do you have your phone?"
I patted myself down, checking my pockets. "No, I left it at the dorm."
"Exactly. After you drove off, Tyler called me. She was panicking, they all were. No one knew why you left, and I was the first number she saw." He explained.
I groaned. "Jeez, you'd think they'd stop worrying after all this time."
Then something else popped in my head. "Wait, how'd you find me?"
A shrug. "I'm psychic."
An arched brow. "My a**."
A laugh. "Okay, fine. I don't know, I just had this weird feeling you'd be here." He shoved his hands in his sweater pockets. "Wouldn't blame you either. This place is somewhat comforting."
His chest rose up as he took a deep breath, exhaling slowly. I watched him stretch his arms up to the sky, his sweater inching up, revealing a little of his defined abs.
I coughed, averting my eyes from his body.
Look at something else Cam. Oh look! A white pigeon!
"Cam!" I flinched at my name.
"Hmmm? What? What?" I looked around, my fists balled up in defense.
He chuckled at my reaction. "Dude, you are just uptight today." He slung an arm over my shoulder. "Let's go."
I looked up to his face. "Go where foo?"
He ignored me, effortlessly dragging my small frame along. "Don't worry bout it."
I shrugged, letting him take me. "I mean I guess."
"That's my girl." He smiled.
