I rushed everything the next morning. After my little encounter with Vernon yesterday, I came back to the hotel and knocked the hell out. Little did I know I would over sleep like an idiot.
But I smiled to myself regardless. It was worth it.
"Okay, all done. And remember, pat when you sweat not smear. Kay?" I snapped back to my hair stylist, who was eyeing me suspiciously.
"Huh? Oh, yeah right. Got it." I nodded.
"Cool. Now get to wardrobe missy!" He shooed me away.
"Right." I hopped off the seat, darting to my dressing room.
Locking the door behind me, I found 8 different outfits all numbered for the show.
I threw on the first one, thankful I had jeans on instead of booty shorts. Those things always had my cheeks hanging out and I hated it. I tied the red and black flannel shirt around my waist, and shoved my feet into the toe steel boots before running out.
"How's this?" I asked him.
He turned around, critiquing me from every angle.
"Perfect. You just... need.. this." He pulled a red bandana out from his back pocket, carefully knotting it under my hair.
I pulled back, modeling once more. "Better?"
He beamed. "Flawless! Now get going missy! 15 minutes till we start!"
S***.
"Mkay. Thank you!" I yelled, running to the underground stage.
The guys performance was still going on when I got there.
"There you are! Someone hook her up with a mic now please?!" The director yelled.
About 3 people ran my way, pinning the mic box to the back of my jeans. The other snaked the chord under my shirt, pulling it out the top and pinning it on my collar. The last one was pinning the back up wireless mic between my buttons.
I gave em a thumbs up for mic check.
"Good. Now follow me Cam." He led me to the middle platform. I looked up between the cracks of the stage and saw movement.
They must be at it, those fan girls are loud as f***.
"Okay, so in a few minutes the guys will wrap up their stage and give you the floor. That's when I'll que the guys to lift your platform okay? Make sure to stand still while you're going up and don't make any sudden movements until it comes to a full halt. Got it?" The director droned.
"Gotcha." I nodded.
"Super! Okay, now can we get our other ladies please?" He yelled.
Within seconds, 2 bodyguards led Val and Chelsea up to their platforms.
They smiled at me.
"Hey girl." Val smirked.
"Hi." I waved to both of them.
"You ready?" Chelsea asked.
I grinned. "Always."
Suddenly the music stopped, the only noise was the loud applause of the audience. No doubt it was a standing ovation. The whole stadium shook!
I closed my eyes, silently praying to not fall over and eat s*** on stage.
"Get ready ladies! You're up in 3!" The director yelled.
My eyes flew open.
Game time.
