I was pissed at her. Mainly cuz she didn't tell me s*** bout me comin out to Korea. But more importantly, why she didn't tell me bout her tour wit BTS. My BIAS group.
"She wanted it to be a surprise. Don't be too harsh." My mom had said.
I rolled my eyes, pushing around the shopping cart for her. "Still, this is a crime."
She sighed, throwing in all kinds of junk food. Most of them being junk foods Poly kids grew up eating.
"What's all this for?" I scrunched my nose. "You never buy junk for us unless it's cheap, and this ain't cheap." I held up the bags of Bongos.
She snatched them from me, throwing it back in the cart. "That's because they're not for you."
"Then who's it for?" Alex asked, watching as Mom threw in cans of pisupo.
"It's for Cam." Mom sighed.
"Ha! Mom, the girl can barely finish a half eaten sandwich. What makes you think she'll eat all this?" I scoffed.
Alex nodded. "She's right, aunt. Cams not the same anymore."
We halted unexpectedly. Mom stood in front of the cart, a serious expression on her face.
"That's why I have you two."
We turned to each other. "Huh?"
She put her hands on her hips. "She thinks you guys are going for fun, but I only agreed to let you go because you guys will be my eyes and ears."
I groaned, knowing exactly where that was leading to.
"You will take all this food and make sure she eats right. Make sure she's sleeping well too. If not, I'll consider it your flight back. This is your mission now. So I suggest you take it seriously." She eyed us.
I gulped.
Flight back? No BTS? No Korean BBQ?
"F*** man." I whispered.
Alex looked at me worried. "We're f*****."
...
"Yo! Wake the f*** up foo!" Alex snapped her fingers in my face.
"Huh? What? What?!?" My eyes flicked around.
"Ki'o! They need your finger prints for the key card." Alex sighed.
"Oh. Right." I put my hand on the weird machine, wincing when it beeped.
"Alright, c'mon. It's getting late and I know y'all are hungry." Cam was already heading for the elevators.
"Yahh! Wait for us!" We ran after her.
The ride up was excruciatingly silent, so I was glad when the doors swung open. We stepped out to the dimly lit corridor. The brightest light coming from the moon shining through the huge clear windows on our left.
Our squeaky wheels were the only audible noise as we made our way to the last room at the end of the corridor.Hmm. Smart. Only one neighbor to deal with.
"Who stays here?" I asked curiously.
"The boys." She didn't even look up as she opened our room.
"THE BOYS?!" Alex and I screeched.
"Shhhh! Get inside before I say anything else!" She hissed walking in.
We shrugged, grabbed our luggage and followed behind her.
The first thing I saw was the huge living room. Three oversized couches lay accordingly with a fancy crystal coffee table in the middle. A large flat screen hung on the wall accompanied by a DVD player.
