By nightfall the forest was so quite you could hear a twig snap a mile away. It was calming to know that this time when I am walking through the forest I have weapons and a torch. We stopped to have a quick drink, what a mistake that was. About 70 feet to the left of us we heard multiple twigs snap, I shone my torch in that direction but saw nothing. I grabbed both knives and held them firmly by my side, Jason done the same with his machete and something he hadn't showed me....a gun, a CZ 75 SP-01  to be more exact.

First he fired a few blanks into the distance hoping to scare off whatever was there but no, whatever was there started coming closer quicker

First he fired a few blanks into the distance hoping to scare off whatever was there but no, whatever was there started coming closer quicker. Even though I could take care of myself Jason stepped in front of me. He pointed his gun directly to where we heard the twigs snap but he was only going to shoot if he was sure it was a faceless man. I put one knife away and replaced it with a torch...I was scared to shine it in the direction of the twig snapping and leave crunching but then something grabbed the hand my torch was in, I almost screamed until I realised it was Jason, he had put his machete away and now had a hold of my hand. He whispered "on the count of 3 we both shine the torch in that direction" all I could do was nod, I was to scared to speak. "3, 2, 1" we shone the torch and saw a faceless man standing beside a tree no more than 10 feet away from us, before I could flinch Jason had put a bullet in its head. He let go of my hand than put his gun away and checked his map and compass, I was frozen with fear just watching the faceless and now lifeless man just slowly bleed. After a couple minutes Jason took me by the hand and led me onwards. He said there was a mansion nearby that had been abandoned long ago my only answer was "its better than camping out, who knows how many of that creeps friends are around here". Neither of us said a word after that until we arrived at the abandoned mansion after about another 20-30 minutes of walking. Before Jason opened the door he squeezed my hand tight, got his gun out and said "here we go again"........
