Chapter 16 - Forgive

Hey snowflakes how's it been for me it's been kinda crazy but I am fine yeah good so I love this story and would love to hear more feedback so now on with the story........

Maya P.O.V. *EDITED*

So they relocated me from the hospital to my room, I still have to rest here.

Riley and Lucas have both been calling me, they have even tried coming here but I told them I didn't want to see them, that I needed time to think.

I just don't know what to do anymore, I feel betrayed, and sad, and so many emotions.

Should I just forgive and forget?

I don't know, ugh my head is hurting, just by thinking about what happened.

"Honey, it's me, mom." Mom said softly as she entered the room.

"Maya, Riley and Lucas are here to talk to you." Mom said with an equally as soft tone as before.

"Just tell them I can't talk right now." I said, it was the same thing I've been telling her everytime that they have stopped by.

My mom sighed and sat on the edge of my bed.

"I know what you're thinking Maya." My mom said, giving me a knowing look.

"Really mom? please tell me what that is, I don't know what to do anymore." I said to my mom with a frustrated sigh, this felt draining.

"Well I do, forgive them." She said, I just stared at her like she was crazy.

"Forgive them? How could I ever forgive something like that? Mom I was in a coma." I told her, my tone was cold, but deep down I wanted to listen to her, deep down I wanted to believe that I could forgive them.

"Yes I know Maya, but I believe Riley is telling the truth." My mom told me, she seemed to genuinely believe what she was saying.

"She says it was the jealousy but that sounds crazy, how can you believe that?" I said incredulously, it sounded like an excuse she had made up, it didn't sound believable.

"Because it has happened to me before." My mom said looking down, I could see she was ashamed of it.

"What?" I asked intrigued by this new information. "Yes, before I met Shawn and your dad, in high school." Mom said, I never would've though that something like that could happen to my mom, she was always so strong.

"The jealousy always seems like the easier choice." Mom said, I could hear in her tone that she spoke the truth.

"But if you want I guess I'll tell them that you can't talk right now." Mom said standing up from my bed.

"Wait, mom let them come in." I said with a sigh, I had to talk to them eventually.

She smiled and nodded and left the room, no longer than two minutes Riley and Lucas came in.

"Maya!" Riley was practically beaming when she saw me.

She came over for a hug but I stopped her. "Excuse me, what are you doing?" I asked in a cold tone, just because mom told me about her experience didn't mean I couldvautomatically trust them.

"I just wanted to give you a hug Maya, I've missed you." Riley said backing up a little, I could hear the hurt in her tone.

"And then what? stab me in the back? oh wait, you already did." I said looking away from her hurt expression.

"Maya it wasn't me, it was the jealousy, please believe me." Riley said in a pleading tone but I still wasn't convinced.

"How can I Riley? when you and Lucas betrayed me, you my best friend." I said looking directly at Riley. "And you my boyfriend." I said turning to look at Lucas.

Tears started to come down. "I trusted you two and you betrayed me with each other." I said, the pain in my voice was unmistakable. 

"Maya it's not what it looked like, I thought Riley was you, she was wearing a wig." Lucas said, I could see the sadness and regret in his eyes.

"I know, I've heard the story a thousand times." I said looking down at my hands. "Please believe us, I made you a promise that I would never hurt you Maya but I broke it, I am so sorry." Lucas said, he had tears in his eyes, he looked genuinely sorry.

He came and gave me a hug, I tried to get out of it but he was too strong for me.

And then Riley came and gave me a hug too, I hugged them both back, something inside of me was telling me to forgive them and so I did.

"I forgive you." I said smiling at them "but." I said quickly seeing as Lucas was about to kiss me.

"We aren't going to date right now Lucas, let's take a break just for now." I said, his smile faltered a little but he nodded. (don't freak out shippers just wait for the next chapter)

And after a while of chatting they left and I decided I needed a nap so I fell info a deep sleep.
