After a long ten minutes, the flashlight went off. Jason and I pushed the glass beaker off the table, and dashed for the books. The glass shattered loudly against the floor, and we heard the giant footsteps approaching. Then, one of my tribe yelled something, and I heard the arrows fly. The giant cursed, but when his voice reached my ears, that's when I cursed out loud too. A loud thud was next, and I knew that the human had fallen. But it wasn't the right human. Jason looked like proud lion as we went to the edge of the table. I, however, was scared shitless.
Pinned down on the floor was not the teacher of this classroom. No, it was Christopher. The boy who truly believed in borrowers. The one who's dream it was to meet one. Now, his dream is trying to kill them.

"Isn't this amazing, Mollie?" Jason asked.

"You idiot! That's not the leader!" I snapped.

"What do you mean?"

"That's the kid who actually believes we're real!" Jason's ears went down.

"You're kidding, right?" We both looked at Christopher, who was pinned down by the rope. Soon, Jack appeared. He looked just as pleased as Jason did before he figured out they got the wrong guy. But Jack obviously didn't know that.

"Great job, my fellow tribe! You've captured the human leader, approving that we can conquer them! Now, time to kill him." He told my tribe. I gasped.

"Since when were you going to kill him!" I hissed.

"He'll speak to the other humans about us if we don't!" He replied defensively. Then it happened. First one rope snapped. Then another. Soon, each of the ropes snapped.
Christopher took no time in standing up, nor did he hesitate before grabbing one of us. A black haired girl screamed in his grip. That girl was Jack's daughter.

"He's got Violet!" One of my tribe yelled.

"Put her down you foul beast!" Jack yelled angrily. Christopher simply stood, gazing over us. It didn't seem like he had a tight grip on Violet though. But he certainly wasn't going to let her go.

"Why should I let her go? You wanted to kill me, so what's to stop me from killing her?" He asked. Jack's bravado faltered for a minute. Then increased

"Listen here you big piece of-" He began. By now I had climbed down and ran next to him.

"Please excuse my leader's attitude. You're holding his daughter in your hand, so he's obviously going to be protective of her." I quickly said. Jack shot me an angry look as I shooed him away. "If you kill her, we lose the next leader of the tribe. Without a leader, our tribe will fall."

"Why should I care? You wanted to kill me! I walk in the classroom to grab something, and next I know, I'm pinned on the floor by small rope. Why should I give a damn about your tribe when you didn't obviously give a damn about my life?" He had a point. Jack wanted him dead, and my clan were simply following his orders. Violet continued to struggle in his hand.

"What if we made you a deal, or a trade for you to leave us alone? I'm sure there is something." I said nervously. Christopher seemed to be thinking about it. Then a small sly grin made its appearance on his face.

"If I leave you alone, one of you has to stay with me." He finally said.

"W-what?..." I stuttered. Christopher bent down, making all of us jump back from his large movements.

"I know you're not deaf, little cat. In order for me to leave you alone, one of you must stay with me."

"We can't just give you one of our tribe to keep like a toy!" I exclaimed defensively. Christopher held Violet in his hand.
