Christopher would get anxious on and off, and it to be honest it was tiring. I fell asleep at some point and woke up to laying on a table with Christopher looking at me. The room was empty.
"Hey sleepy head." He said as I yawned.
"Hey..." I looked around as I noticed we were in the chemistry room. "Why are we in here?" I asked groggily.
"Mr.Boltz is never in here during lunch and I asked if I could stay in here." Christopher replied. "That way you could stretch your legs and maybe see your tribe." I did indeed stretch as I spoke.
"I'm banished remember?" I said with my eyebrow raised. He blushed and scratched the back of his neck.
"Oh yeah. Sorry." He said nervously. He then pulled out his lunch bag, opened it, and took out the sandwich he had made for lunch. He placed it in front of me. "Do you want me to rip off a piece for you?" He asked.
"No. I thought I'd just sit here and watch you eat while I starve." I said sarcastically. He smirked and ripped off a piece. "Thank you." I said gratefully as ripped some meat off.
"Since Mr.Boltz probably won't be back for awhile, is there anything you want to do?" He asked after swallowing a bite of his sandwich. My ears went straight up as I excitedly came up with an idea.
"The teacher, he has sweet bark in his desk! I want some!" I said excitedly. He looked at me weird.
"What's sweet bark?" He asked.
"You know, the sweet and creamy brown treat that comes in a bar form?"
"You mean chocolate?"
"YAS!" I jumped up and down to show my want for the delicious treat.
"I don't know, Mollie...His desk is off limits."
"Oh come on! I can get in there myself, you just need to take me over there. Pleaaaseeee!"
"Fine...Just be careful." He lifted me up and carried me to the desk. He set me into the drawer where he found the chocolate. "Get a piece and lets go. I can't get caught." I rolled my eyes and began to try and break a piece off. However as I heard Christopher gasp, I also heard his teacher speak.
"What are you doing by my desk, Christopher? I don't have any money over there." They joked. Christopher panicked.
"I was, uh, looking for a pencil sir." He awkwardly picked up a pencil off of the teacher's desk. I saw the blonde man with glasses walk to his chair. Next thing I knew he had shut the drawer without looking at it. I fell backwards with the sudden slam and finally broke a piece off. Except now I was in the dark. Christopher's awkward cough told me he was nervous.
"So, um, how long are you going to be here for, sir?" Christopher asked.
"I'm here for the rest of the day. Why?" Mr.Boltz asked.
"Oh uh, no reason. Just have a few questions on my chemistry homework." I could hear the nervousness and panic in Christopher's voice, but if I banged on the desk his teacher would find me. If he were to open the desk I could hide behind the other junk in here. I heard the man walk with Christopher and heard them talk about his homework. Then I heard him tell Christopher he should probably get to class. After trying to stall, he gave up and left. Leaving me alone in the darkness of the desk. I sat and hugged my knees as I tried to stay positive.
Hours passed while I was trapped inside the drawer. I was losing my mind. Would Christopher have to wait until tomorrow to help me? Or would he never come back? Would I be found and killed? So many questions ran through my head. When I heard footsteps that sounded like Christopher's I began to bang onto the wall of the drawer.
