Letter 17

Mum invited me over for Sunday lunch today.  I asked if I could bring a plus one and she agreed.  So I called Angie to ask her over.  See, thing was, she was out already.  On a date.  I wished her luck with it and hung up.  I was a little bit surprised but also happy for her; it proves that friendship heals wounds no one else would know about.  I told you we were just going to be friends.

And her boyfriend – his name is Fred.

Ginny had come back home too; Harry in tow.  Ron was sat beside Hermione, their hands folded together.  Percy sat with his book in hand and glasses perched on his nose as always.  Mum and Dad sat together in perfect harmony – none of the remaining residue of arguments between them.  But they were all together and I still felt alone.

We were always the pair Fred.

I miss you Freddie.  I wish you were here.
