*Kagome's POV*
The nurse's light green eyes darted from my mom's retreating back to my droopy head. "Kagome-" She started to speak, but I sharply cut her off.
"No." My voice broke through her weak barrier of soft pity. My small hands fisted the thin material as I slouched further down into the white hospital bed.
"Just.. Leave me alone. Please." I spoke quietly, my voice cracking sorrowfully with every syllable. I rolled onto my side, facing away from her in shame. I tightly closed my eyes from emotional pain. I could feel my heart beating painfully against my ribs.
'Why do I feel so guilty?'
"Kagome.." Maddie spoke carefully, and approached me as if approaching a startled, abused animal, which is what I was exactly feeling like at the moment. "There must have been a reason why you suddenly reacted that way."
I refused to budge from my position, but proceed to listen to her. My ears slightly twitched as she started talking again. I subconsciously peeked an eye open and glanced at her over my shoulder.
She met eye contact and continued, "Did you have a flashback?"
An absent of words seemed to linger into our already one sided conversation as I rolled over to fully face her. Even if I did tell her I had one, what was I supposed to tell her? Lydia looks awfully familiar to the guy that used to abuse me?
"If you tell me about your flashback, there's more of a potential chance that you can recover your memories faster." She bribed me, sitting on the edge of the hospital bed.
My bottom lip got sucked in between my teeth as I nibbled down thoughtfully. The clock hanging above me loudly ticked the seconds went by painfully slow.
Tick, tock, tick, tock, tick, toc-
Suddenly the door was swung open, ripping us out of our own thoughts. It hit the wall behind it with a loud bang, making me jump. I couldn't help but wonder if there was now a hole there.
A teenage boy that adorned the same hospital nightgown as me, crossed the room as fast as lightning. I barely caught a flash of silver trailing behind him. Before the nurse could stop him and before I could even react, his arms were thrown over my shoulder and pulled me close into his warm body. The long silver trail turned out to be his hair and was now tickling my nose.
"Kagome.." The boy murmured softly, sounding very relieved to see me awake. His strong arms moved from my shoulders to encircle my waist. He held on tightly, seeming afraid that I would disappear. He rested his forehead against my shoulder and just stayed like that. He was almost completely laying down in the small bed with me, but strangely enough, it was comforting. I glanced at Maddie before closing my eyes and cradling his head in my arms.
"Don't ever do that again to me, wench." He murmured again, very sorrowful.
My body went slack against him and my arms released his head as another flashback was painted in front of me.
I pulled a tray that had nachos and chocolate milk. I paid for it and headed towards a random table. I was yanked back. I slightly glared at what I imagined, a friend. She had her brown hair tied up and light pink make up applied. She was wear a pink shirt that had a panda on it and blue skinny jeans.
"What?" I asked her.
"What?" She mimicked my high pitched voice. "You were about to sit at the wrong table."
I looked at her in confusion. "Wrong table?" I almost started laughing. There was no such thing as the 'wrong table'.
"That's where the school's bad boy sit." She explained it like it made sense.
