*Kagome's POV*

Koga slowly lowered me onto the short hospital bed. I untangled my legs from his small waist and withdrew my hands from his warm throat.

"Well," I giggled quietly, carefully sliding off his toned back and plopping onto the springy mattress, "thanks for the piggy back ride."

"No problem, Kagome." Koga grinned, flashing his pearly whites as he sat besides me. Our shoulders brushed together softly. My body hummed as his comfortable body heat flooded into my personal space.

"I honestly thought I could walk back.." I confessed shyly. I was a little embarrassed, actually. My hair draped into my eyes as I bent my head downwards.

"I know; you just got to remember that you have to walk the same distance back." He sounded so wise when he said that.

"That's true... I didn't think of that." I sighed, feeling a bit stupid for not realizing.

"You'll get better at it." He said with encouragement while he patted my back three soft times. Sparks shot through my body every time he touched me. I fought the pleasurable shivers that threatened to go down my back. My lip was brought between my teeth to nibble on as a distraction.

"I really hope so." I said breathlessly, hoping he didn't notice how out of breath I suddenly was.

"Well," Koga began to speak, but stopped once the door creaked slightly open.

"Can we come in?" A familiar feminine voice questioned while pushing the door ajar. Sango's head of brown hair appeared into view; not surprisingly, Miroku following closely behind.

"May as well since you're already halfway in." I casually joked. It almost felt weird being so comfortable with someone you barely knew.

Sango's merciful laughter filled the room. "If you insist." She moved more into the room, allowing the door to swing close behind them. Her brown orbs glanced around the room for something in particular. FInally, her eyes rested upon a chair besides the table. She lifted it up and turn it towards us before plopping down into it. Miroku settled for leaning against the back of her chair. His index finger mindlessly twirled a piece of her beautiful locks that reached just past her waist.

"How've you been feeling lately? How's P.T going?" Miroku asked me with a slight smile tracing his lips.

"I'm doing alright for the most part; Koga had to give me a piggy back ride on the way back from walking to the Cafeteria down the hall." I admitted, slightly laughing at the part when Koga had to carry me back.

"You really walked that far?" Sango inquired with a pleased look. I smiled in response as I nodded.

"That's awesome, Kagome! I'm so proud of you." She beamed brightly. A small laugh escaped my lips.

Miroku suddenly dropped the strand of hair, Sango glancing back at him in disapproval, as he unexpectedly got serious. He had been quiet the entire time. I suddenly got suspicious.

"You and InuYasha..." He trailed off, expecting me to answer his unspoken question. I cocked an eyebrow as to daring him to continue. Hedared; "What happened?"

Sango brought a swift elbow back into Miroku's stomach. He doubled over as the breath left his lungs. "Miroku!" She scolded with a stern face, glaring at his surprised expression.

As I took a long breath in, my shoulder brushed softly against Koga. The reminder of his presence kept my anger at bay. My eyes slid close.

"He attacked my physical therapist. What was I supposed to do?" A brief pause to recollect my thoughts, "Koga is trying to help rehabilitate my strength back. He's trying to help me and it's a little hard when InuYasha kept getting over protective with me. I'm not some damn property that he owns."

"He really loved you, Kagome.." Sango spoke sadly. Her eyes went downcasted, refusing to look me in the eyes.

"And you loved him." Miroku quietly chimed in.

So many negative emotions flowed throughout my body that my eyes flew wide open. Fire burned around my orbs. The presence of Koga was long forgotten.

"I don't know who he is!" I suddenly screamed out in frustration. My teeth clenched together in rage. "I don't even know who I am!" Angry tears threatened to run down my face as my thick voice cracked.

"Kagome-" Sango said as she reached out to touch me.

"No." I spoke softly, yet the single word was so powerful. Wetness dampened my face, but I could care less now. All my frustration and anger had finally erupted.

"If you came here to convince me to drop the charges on InuYasha," Sango raised her head to look up and meet my eyes as I did a dramatic pause, "then, just leave."

Sango's and Miroku's eyes nearly popped out of their heads. Heavy silence filled the room for a few seconds that felt like hours.

"Fine." Sango was up and out the door in a flash. Miroku was no longer in the room, so I assume he left with Sango.

A quiet gasp quickly filled my lungs as I watched the door slide shut behind them. My throat was clamped shut as more tears raced down my face. My nose immediately became runny, making me sniffle.

"Shh, Kagome..." Koga tried to hush my quiet sobs that escaped from my throat. He wrapped an arm over my shoulders and pulled me into his warm side. I buried my head into chest and raised a hand to tighten around the cloth of his shirt. My body shook as another sob erupted. He no longer tried to shush my sobs, but he held me tighter and rocked us back and forth. The motion managed to sooth me after a few minutes.

"T-thanks, Koga..." I mumbled quietly, my voice barely above a whisper.

"Anytime, Kagome." A light pressure was pressed against my temple as my eyes fluttered closed and drifted into a slumber of sadness.

Heyoooooo guys! Wassup? I'm in my second (or is it third?) week of school. I'm now on medication for my insomnia, but I'm lucky if it kicks in within two hours. I'm struggling heavily with staying asleep so school has just been a blast- hint the sarcasm. Mornings are tough, but afternoons are tougher. I'm typically burnt out by Wednesday and I'm ready to yank my hair out. I don't want to do this anymore. I just want to stay home and sleep and sleep and sleep. :( Butttttttt, I need this knowledge in order to get into college. I seriously wish coffee would do more than speed my heart rate and make me shaky. I also got an MRI done today so let's hope the doctor finds "some soft tissue stuff", as he put it. I miss running and being able to walk without pain, hopefully it'll come to an end soon. As always, thanks for reading and I appreciate everyone's feedback.
