*Kagome's POV*

I immediately reached to grab his hand, as it seemed like the correct thing to do. I gave his warm hand a tight squeeze, to which he didn't return, but didn't pull away either. My lips turned downwards as his eyes began to turn misty. He raised his free hand to cover his eyes and hide his face from me.

"I'm really sorry, InuYasha." I spoke softly, my honest words bouncing off the walls. My thumb traced circles on the top of his hand in comfort.

InuYasha dropped his hand from his face with surprise written all over it. He tightly clamped both of his hands over mine and closely leaned in. There was barely a few inches from our faces as our breaths mingled together. I scrunched my eyebrows together in confusion and looked deeply into his eyes.

"What?" I asked quietly, only focusing on his wide eyes. A small, yet hopeful smile etched itself on his features.

"You just called him by his name." Maddie stated, yanking the clipboard off the brown coffee table. "You might just recover your memories sooner than we'd imagined." Her hand moved back and forth on the paper as she quickly jotted notes down with a black, gel pen.

"That's great!" I exclaimed, feeling excited. I turned towards the boy, who's apparently InuYasha. I analyzed his beautiful features, scanning my eyes over his clearly built body.

"InuYasha." I said his name, liking the way it sounded on my tongue.

"Kagome." He mocked me with a wide grin on his face, causing me to burst into a fit of giggles. He threw his arms and I immediately melted into his embrace.

It was almost weird at how naturally comfortable I felt around this boy.  It's just something about him that makes me trust him so unbelievably much. This made me wonder how close we were before my accident.

"Kagome!" A male and female cried out in unison, forcing InuYasha and I apart due to surprise.

I barely had enough time to glance up and look at a female and male before they engulfed me in their arms. The girl quietly sobbed into my shoulder as I rubbed in between her shoulder blades. The boy had his arms thrown over my shoulders, just as equally relived, but no tears shed from his eyes.

"Oh, Kagome.." The girl mumbled as she withdrew herself from me. She wiped her wet eyes on the sleeve of her shirt as she sniffled.

"We're so relieved that you're okay." The boy let out a shaky breath as he leaned off the bed.

I glanced at InuYasha with tearful eyes, making him finally confirm that I didn't remember them either. I closed my sorrowful eyes, a tear streaking down my face as InuYasha pulled me back into him. His strong arms enclosed around my shaking body.

"I feel so horrible.." My quiet voice cracked with every syllable as guilt filled within me. I sniffled quietly in his arms.

"Shh.." InuYasha mumbled as he stroked my hair. "It's not your fault."

"Why are you crying?" The girl asked in startlement, moving closer to us. "Are you in pain?"

"Emotional pain, yes." The nurse commented as she placed the clipboard down.

"Emotional?" The boy echoed, clearly confused.

"When Kagome fell, she landed on her.." Maddie begun to inform them of my loss of memory.

"Oh, God." The girl said in a raspy voice. I opened my eyes to see the girl clinging to the boy, barely able to stand.

"Will she be able to.." The boy started to ask, but was unable to finish his question as his grip tightened on the girl.
