A/N: THANK YOU @_Danisnotonfire__ FOR THE AMAZING AND BEAUTIFUL FANART 👌🏼😍 I absolutely adore it! Remember if you want to send in fanart (only if you want too!) my email is in my bio and be sure to label the subject as "Lights Out Fanart" ! Enjoy the chapter everyone and I'm sorry I'm the worst with updating, my life is busy with exhausting school work. School is gross, I'm sure we can all pretty much agree on that. — Cassidy.
"I don't understand why we're here?" I spoke as Dan parked the car in a dry area.
"It's a dry zone. I'm positive no one would suspect us to be here out of all the places. Anyways, we need to be alone by ourselves anyway," Dan exits the car, leading the way.
"I don't think coming to this random area is going to help either of us with this anonymous person. Anyways, where did you tell the guys we were heading too?" I ask.
Dan shrugs, "I told them I was going to show you around Vegas for the first time."
I grunt, "Dan, can we stop walking for a minute. My legs fell asleep from the drive!"
Suddenly Dan stops, almost causing me to bump into him. He then turns around and quickly aims his fist at my face, but I was lucky enough to block the surprise hit.
"What the bloody fucking hell!" I back away from him.
He nods, smirking, "Good, your reflex... It's good. We can definitely work on it some more but I wasn't expecting you to block it so quickly."
"You fucking crazy!" I scream at the young man in front of me. "What was the purpose of that?!" I yell.
"Someone is obviously out to get us, Arabella. As long as we travel, there's still going to be a killer on the road, and if not then a threat. I made a promise to safe, therefore I am going to teach you how to defend yourself," Dan says, then jogging over to the car, taking out boxing gloves from the trunk, throwing them to me.
"I can easily take care of myself. Last thing I need is getting defense lessons in the middle of Vegas from you," I spat at him.
"Clearly, you can't if you have to beg to get out of any grip of mine. Stop being a little bitch and show me what you got. Come on, start hitting my hands," he holds up boxing pads in his hands.
I angrily bite my lower lip, putting my hair up in a ponytail. I pull a full strands out of my face, shoving my hands in the boxing gloves, also getting into a fighting position. I quickly stop myself, "Wait, why are we out here though?"
"Like I said, no one will suspect a thing. Plus, when you travel with an attacker hunting you down, they're going to want to fight; and those fights don't just take place on a boxing mat. These fights happen in random areas, dangerous areas. Wouldn't matter where I taught you, you need to be prepared for a fall either way. Now get back into position," Dan lifts his boxing pads back up.
I let out a breather, nodding my head. I get back into position, bringing my gloves to my face.
"Come on Arabella! Hit me! Hit me!" Dan yells, spit exiting from his mouth.
I throw a punch at his hand, causing him to nod vigorously at my movements, in approval. I huff, throwing more punches to his padded hands. That is until he randomly tackled me to the ground, his hand behind my head, protecting it from the fall.
"What the fuck! I wasn't ready Dan!" I scoff, on the floor, hitting his back with my gloved hand.
"Oh, how I love it when you yell at me baby," he snickers, still on top of me.
I hit his back once more. "Jokes, jokes!" He claims. "Of course you weren't ready. You're not supposed to be ready yet. If I was the bad guy right now, you would have been dead from the moment I laid eyes on you," he gets himself off of my body.
"But, you are the bad guy in this situation," I state, picking myself up.
Dan brings his hands to his waist, shaking his head at me. His sigh was soft, almost depressing. His eyes weren't light, nor were they dark. His eyes were sadden- dull some would say. Missing of the hazel specks that appear with the presence of the sunlight.
"Just get back into position, and keep your damn mouth shut. I'm sick and tired of you always finding some way to put a label on me as an attacker. Listen sweetheart, I'm saving your damn life right here. I didn't have to keep you alive, but I chose not to kill you. If anyone else were in your shoe they would be on their knees thanking me for the mercy I've put on you. So as I repeat myself, keep your fucking mouth shut if you know what's good for you," he grits his teeth at me.
I frown, shaking my head. Whatever, I thought to myself. If he wants to be nasty towards me then I'll give him the best punches I'll throw. Left to right, right to left, right, right, left. I threw punches in random order, making sure to use force.
"Harder Arabella!" Dan nastily smirks at me.
I throw one last, forceful punch at him, causing his body to tumble back a bit. He shook it off, shaking his head in approval, again.
"Your punches are hard. I'll teach you some new stuff next time. For now let's go back to the hotel," he takes off the boxing pads.
I nod, taking my boxing gloves off as well. Dan daringly grabs a hold of my hand, intertwining our fingers together.
"Dan..?" I question.
"Relax yourself. I'm only holding your hand to make sure you won't run away from me," he confirms himself.
"We're in the middle of Vegas, where would I be running to? Plus, with that grip you have, I don't think I'll be going anywhere," I joke.
"Good. You're mine, Arabella. You're stuck with me and there's no turning back, babe," he lightly chuckles as he enters the car.
"Be careful Daniel. Harry wouldn't like to hear those words from you," I put my seatbelt on.
Dan shakes his head, starting the car, "for a minute I thought the miracle of him leaving was true. I guess it was just a dream," Dan frowns, starting to drive away from the area.
"What's that suppose to mean..?" I curiously ask.
He lets out a soft-fake laugh, "it's nothing important Arabella, trust me."
"Alright.." I then look out my window.
The rest of the ride was quiet. There were no audible sounds, but I had a strong feeling the car was filled with loud thoughts. Besides all the crazy shit that's been happening to me, my status or "relationship" with Dan has to be the messiest to me. It was always tainted, yet there's always some purity in it as well. I guess not a lot of people would agree or agree, but it almost feels right. It almost feels like things were just meant to be this way now.
