"AVERY WHITE WHY IS MY HAIR BRIGHT PINK?!?!"
"Oh, Sirius, how do you expect me to know? I've just been sitting here with Erin, minding my own business. I only just started eating my breakfast." I smiled innocently, not even looking at him.
"Oh, really? Then why is it that James has blamed you for this instead of boasting about the fact that he did it?"
At this, I turned to them and I first saw James, giving me a devilish grin and waving.
Then, I looked at Sirius and immediately burst out laughing. His hair was such a bright shade of pink and it was sparkling.
I must've grabbed the glitter one.
Wiping the tears from my eyes, I looked beyond the two boys to see Peter walking in.
He saw the back of Sirius' head and quickly came round to the front of him, squeaking with laughter like a mouse.
I found myself next to Peter, who was still trying to contain giggles. More people were walking in and looking at the commotion, either laughing at Sirius or scowling at me.
"Who got him?" Peter asked when he was finally able to speak without snorting.
I rose my hand sheepishly.
"Nice one Avery! Given him a taste of his own medicine!" He managed to say in between more laughs.
Merlins beard this is the most that Peter has ever said to me.
Remus was last to enter.
"Cmon you guys, we have Hogsmeade today!" He said, before meeting eyes with Sirius and slowly lowering himself to the floor, as if he was slowly dying from laughter.
~~~~~
Erin and I were aimlessly wandering around Hogsmeade, not knowing where to start.
We kept walking until we reached a shop, that Erin immediately stopped at.
"I heard some of the year 5's talking about this shop- it's Honeydukes!" She cheered and immediately ran inside.
I've heard of Honeydukes. If it's all that it's cracked up to be, then it'll be great.
I pushed the door open and stepped inside, immediately gasping. It was heaven- no, it was more than heaven. It was amazing.
I could've spent hours in there, but I needed to see everything else too so I did a quick round and only grabbed a few things- eight sugar quills, five chocolate wands, Bertie Botts every flavour beans, a couple of cauldron cakes, five of Droobles Best Blowing Gum- you know, I might stop here because this list is gonna go on for a while...
We exited the shop and wandered around a bit before we came to a bit of an opening. On the opposite side of the area, a small shack that clearly lacked TLC sat far behind an old fence that had a sad attempt at blocking it off.
I gasped when I saw it and ran right up to the fence, gazing at it.
Erin caught up to me with a quizzical look on her face. "I think that's... That's the Shrieking Shack! Oooh I heard it's haunted!"
I felt my eyes widen. "Lets go take a look!" I went to go under the fence, but Erin pulled me back before I could go any further.
"Woah, why don't we just leave that for now and grab a butterbeer instead?" She said, desperately trying to keep me away.
I felt myself warm up inside just by the word. I love butterbeer, it's just- magical. I laughed a little as Erin looked at me strangely.
"What are you waiting for then?" I grinned and started skipping away.
Erin caught up and pulled me back again. "Wrong way silly!" She laughed pointed me to a different direction.
~~~~~
We arrived outside a place with a sign in front, labeled 'The Three Broomsticks'
I clapped my hands and opened the door, finding a seat by the window. Erin didn't sit down with me and instead ordered two butterbeers.
She came back, golden drinks in hand. She sat down across from me and passed one drink over. I sipped it and instantly warmed up, I tasted the different flavours and I couldn't help but grin.
We started chatting about normal stuff, like puns and three-legged unicorns when a girl walked over.
She smiled sweetly at Erin. "Can I please have a minute with Avery?"
Her scarf was in Ravenclaw colours.
Erin, though slightly puzzled, got up nonetheless and walked over to a table of Gryffindor girls.
The girl sat down across from me and her facial express turned from a sweet smile to a scowl in less than a millisecond.
"I have one thing to say to you White; stay away from Sirius Black."
"What?"
"If you do not stay away from Sirius Black, I will not hesitate to ruin your life. He's mine, got it?" She said more forcefully.
I laughed. "I'm sorry, but are you telling me to stay away from my good friend?" I asked. "Who are you anyway?"
"Don't laugh at me White, this is no funny business." She spat. "My name is May Austin and talking to Sirius is the biggest mistake you've made." She sneered.
"Look May," I smiled. "I'm sure your mother realised she made her biggest mistake the day you were born."
She was gaping, and she looked like a fish.
"If you would go as far as to threaten people in order to get your way then you do not deserve his love. It's a shame, I thought you were a sweet girl. Obviously you're not."
"You'll regret saying that later!" She growled. "Go anywhere near Sirius and I will make the entire school turn on you, got that?"
"Can I ask you a question?" I asked innocently. She narrowed her eyes at me but let me talk. "Is your ass jealous of all the shit that's coming out of your mouth?"
If looks could kill, I'm sure she would already be in Azkaban.
She tried to calm herself down, speaking with a balanced voice. "Look at things from my perspective. I've been trying to get Sirius to notice me for three years and all of a sudden you walk in and he's all over you." I snorted at the last bit.
"I would try and see things from your perspective, but I'm afraid I can't get my head that far up my ass."
She scowled, turning around and exiting.
"Merlins beard, I cannot stand people like her." I muttered, sipping from my butterbeer.
But now she is gone. Oh joyous day.
