"Sirius!" I called out as I ran after him, only to realise he had completely disappeared when I exited the forest.
How did he do that?
Howling sounded in the distance, my signal to leave Sirius be for tonight and go back to the castle in order to avoid any more dangers.
I snuck around the castle, thankfully making my way up to the Gryffindor portrait hole without being seen. I heard chattering as I made my way up the stairs towards my dorm but when I opened the door, everyone was asleep.
Until Emily tried to snore and couldn't stop laughing.
Erin grumpily sat up, shooting Emily a nasty glare before turning the light on. Lily and Amelia followed her lead, avoiding my gaze.
"Why were you guys...?" I asked, gesturing to the fact that they were pretending to be asleep.
They all looked away, and eventually Lily spoke up.
"To tell you the truth, we were discussing a little rumour flying around about you."
I gave her a questioning look.
"Not in a bad way or anything," she said, her face panic stricken. "Just talking about it."
"So what exactly is this rumour?" I asked.
"Someone's been going around saying that you used a love potion on Sirius." Emily replied, glaring at me in a way that she probably thought I couldn't see under the faint glow of the lamp. "Since you just happened to hit it off straight away." She said, anger purposely evident in her voice.
I suddenly held both hands to my chest and fell to the floor, coughing and making gagging noises, which made Amelia giggle at my overdramatic state.
"God no, not that foul creature." I joked.
"Who would spread a rumour about you though?"asked Amelia.
"You mean, apart from all the crazed girls?" Erin asked sarcastically.
I laughed and felt myself relax for the first time in a while.
-time skip-
The next morning, I had much more confidence. I walked to the great hall, grinning at anyone who eyed me. My new found confidence was like something I had never felt before, and it quickly vanished when I entered the great hall and met eyes with the marauders, excluding Sirius who refused to look my way.
I looked towards Erin who was sat a few seats away from them, signalling that I needed help. She rolled her eyes in reply and motioned me to go over to her.
I sighed and did as she wanted, now avoiding all gazes. I made eye contact with James whom I was felt I could trust most out of the marauders, and he gave me a pitiful gaze.
He turned to Remus and whispered something to him, and the whispering went back and forth between them as I watched confusedly.
Suddenly James' eyes brightened as he suddenly shouted something out.
"Thank Merlin for your smarts, Remus!"
"No James! That's what you shouldn't-"
"Too late now!" He grinned.
That was when I realised I was about to be dragged into one of James's... Let's say, questionable plans.
James then moved closer to me and lent across the table so he could whisper something in my ear.
"Meet at The Three Broomsticks tomorrow during Hogsmeade, as soon as you get there."
He lent back and waited for my reply, which was an eye roll with a smile, meaning that I had agreed.
A/n: sorry for the short chapter I'm just lazy and I have writers block.
