"Nanay?"

Silence reign the room as they cast their eyes on these people in front of them, never in their almost 2 years of waiting they had thought that they'll see them again.

No one dared to move. Muscles are flexed and stiffed, all are placed on the sides of their bodies, some are deciding whether to make a move or make a sound just to break this akwardness.

Nico was about to fake cough, when...

"NANAY!!!"

Maine ran towards her Nanay and jump hugged her, it was fortunate that Mary Ann's strength is enough to catch both of them, if not, they would fall on the floor with pained butts

"NAY!!! S-SORRY *sobs* PO!!!"

She cried hard. Hardest, rather, she'd never imagined in her life she would cry as hard as she is right now. She looked like a lost child who happened to go back to her family for so many years of being kept away and locked in a place she didn't know. Analogous to a lost puppy.

Infact, she wept harder than when she told her mother how her Kuya Nico bit her hand just to get the strawberry lollipop he's been craving to eat for the past few weeks.

She looks like a faucet that was turned on at its maximum level, she looks like she had never cried before.

"Menggay. Shhh. T-tahan na anak"

Mary Ann was crying also, but she managed to comfort and caress her locks as she kissed her multiple times on her head

"N-nay, s-sorry po talaga, *sobs* miss na miss *hiccups* ko na po k-kayo. N-nay *sobs* p-pinangunahan na *sniffs* naman po ako ng t-takot ko. Ang h-hina hina ko t-talaga"

They looked at each other and smiled then went back to hug again

"O-okay lang, n-naiintindihan ka namin *hiccups* m-miss na miss k--a na *sobs* rin namin ng t-tatay mo. I-isa pa anak, 'di ka mahina *sobs* lagi mo 'yang tatandaan, m-malakas ka, sobra p-pa sa sobra. T-tingnan mo nga, n-napalaki niyo sila *sobs* n-ng wala kami"

"S-sana po nakita niyo 'yung panganganak ko *sobs* s-sana nakita niyo 'yung paglaki nila *hiccups* k-kung 'di lang ako n-naging makasarili. Nay..."

Maine looked at her sobbing father, and slowly pulled off a smiling face, an uncertain at that one

"Tay..."

"M-menggay, prinsesa ko. Si Tatay ba? 'Di mo man lang yayakapin?"

She smiled and sobbed again, then slowly approached her father until she was wrapped in his arms, and they hugged each other, tight.

"T-tay, s---orry din po s-sa pag-iwan namin ni RJ *sobs* sa inyo. P-patawarin niyo po kami *hiccups* Tay!!!"

"M-menggay, wala kang dapat ipagpahingi ng paumanhin, w-wala kayong kasalanan ni RJ, wala. N-naiintindihan namin kung bakit niyo 'yun nagawa"

He whispered onto her hair as he kissed her locks

"P-pero po..."

"Shhh, 'nak. Tahan na, nandito na sina Tatay. 'Wag ka ng umiyak, 'di g-galit si Tatay sa prinsesa niya"
