*One Week Later*
I heard two knocks on the window.

"Carrie, can I come in?" Kian jumped in through the window. There was a long pause.

"We both can't keep avoiding this. What's going on? Cause I'm really confused."

"I'm just as confused as you are!"

"I thought you wanted me to kiss you?"

"I did." He looked at me like I was insane...which I was.

"So why didn't you let me?!"

"I don't know! I think that this has been what I wanted for so long that once it happens, if it doesn't work out--"

"It will work out."

"How do you know?" He looked down.

"Because I like you...a lot." Tears welled in my eyes. "And if we both try our best to make it happen, it will."

"Really?" He sat next to me.

His mouth stayed closed, but his eyes told me everything.
He lunged forward and pressed his lips against mine.
I ran my fingers through his hair and slowly retreated.
He pulled me into a hug. We stayed there for a few moments.
My phone dinged and we separated.
It was a text.

"Hey Carrie." It was an unknown number.

"Who is this?" I replied.

"It's Michael Wood. We dated for a while in in high school. I was wondering if you wanted to catch up. Over coffee maybe?"

I bit my lip. Michael. Remember him? The only other boy I loved?
I couldn't resist and typed,

"I'd love that. Where and when?"

"Starbucks. Sunday, about noon?"

"Sounds great." I put my phone on my night stand and turned to Kian.

"Who was it?"

"Just an old friend."

He looked at me. "You're a terrible liar." He smirked.

"Actually, I'm not lying. They want to catch up."

"Should I be jealous? Is it a guy?"

"It is a guy and you shouldn't be jealous." He leaned his head on my shoulder.

"So when are you meeting? Can I come?"

"It's none of you're business. And wouldn't that defeat the purpose of reuniting with him?" He laughed.

"What if this guys creepy? What if he's like airport guy?"

"He's not, trust me. And I'll be fine. Now stop asking so many questions!" I joked.

He tackled me on the bed. I squirmed, but let him pin me. He kissed the tip of my nose.

"Get off! I have to pick an outfit!" I shoved him aside and grabbed my options.

"Help me decide. I'll put on a fashion show for you." I disappeared into the bathroom.

*Sunday Morning*

I decided to wear a plain black dress with a brown belt and jean jacket.
Michael was at the coffee shop early. I slid in the seat across from him.
I could already feel that this would be awkward.
I haven't seen him in over a year and the last time I did see him, we were in a relationship.

He smiled. "How are you? What's going on in your life?" His green eyes twinkled.
I shifted my weight uncomfortably.

"I'm good. Nothing has really changed since high school. Well, I bought my own house. What about you?" I asked nervously.

"I'm in college. I've seen a few people from high school in the past year. Have you kept in touch?"

"Yeah. Kian, Sam, Kristina, Gianna, Lia. I try to keep in touch with everyone."

"I've talked to Jaclyn-your old friend-a few times. And most of the boys from senior year. I miss being in high school."

"Me too. Have you gotten a job?"

"Nah. Not yet. You?" He asked.

"No."

There was an awkward silence.

"This is strange to ask, but are you seeing anyone?" I gulped.

A lump formed in my throat and I straightened my back.

"Um yes."

"Oh really? Who?" He placed his hand over mine and butterflies took off into my stomach.

I then realized the truth. I was still in love with Michael.
Yes, I've loved Kian forever, but you can love more than one person at a time...I do. And I don't like it. I struggled to find the words,

"Im dating uh...Kian...you know him, right? We all went to school together.."
His green eyes filled with despair.

"Oh. You guys always seemed perfect together."

"Thanks. How about you? You have a girlfriend?" He smiled and shook his head.

His eyes slowly met mine and he said,
"There is someone in mind though. I just don't know if she feels the same way."
I think I already know this "someone".
