It's now exactly thirteen days till Christmas. I haven't spoken to Kian since the day after the party.
Aaron and I have hung out a couple times. I really am starting to like him, but I still have strong feelings for Kian.
In fact, were at the mall together right now. He hasn't made a move yet, but I think he has feelings for me too.
"Lets go in here." I say, head motioning to an American Eagle. We walk in together, side by side before he heads off the the boys section.
I look at all of my options, before going after what catches my eye. Picking up a cream beanie, I subtly glance at Aaron. He was taking a red flannel off of the rack. He caught me looking and I quickly returned my eyes to my beanie.
Way to play it cool. He probably thinks you like him now. But, I do...right?
I started walking towards the back and picked out a light blue denim button up shirt with the sleeves rolled up to the elbow.
Then I got an oversized grey T-shirt with big arm holes and ripped jean shorts the same color as the denim shirt.
I walked up to the counter to pay for my outfit. I handed the cashier the money and Aaron came to the register with his clothes in one hand, wallet in the other.
He paid as I waited for him on one of the disgusting couches inside the mall.
Someone's hands were suddenly over my eyes and a teenage guys voice said, "Guess who?"
I giggled an replied "I know it's you Aaron."
They pulled their hands away and said, "Who's Aaron?"
"Stop playing with me. I know-" I stopped myself as I turned around. It wasn't Aaron. It was Kian.
"What the hell are you doing?" I jumped up from my spot and glared at him.
"Calm down. People are staring."
"I don't care, Kian! Who do think you are? You think you you can just act like a total ass and then come over and be all cute and flirty like everything's fine just a few days later?"
Aaron came walked out of the store and noticed me right away. He saw Kian and stood in front of me, protectively.
"Who's that?" He whispered.
I rolled my eyes. "My ex." His eyes darkened. "Is he bothering you?"
I laughed sarcastically. "Yes." Aaron walked closer to Kian, getting up in his face.
"I think you need to leave." Aaron growled. Kian pointed at Aaron, amused.
"Who's this, Carrie? Your new boyfriend?" Kian looked down at Aaron, towering over him.
"Yeah," Aaron replied, making me look at him quizzically. "And I think you need to go. Now," Aaron continued harshly.
Kian laughed. "Make me," He retorted, glaring at Aaron. "Kian," I spoke, my voice weary. "Please."
"Carrie, this isn't your fight." Kian scolded.
"Really? You sure about that? Cause it looks like your fighting over me." I scoffed.
Kian glanced from Aaron to me. He opened his mouth to speak, but realized he couldn't to defend himself. I was right.
"Kian, please. Just leave. Go back to Andrea...and don't come back again. Move on with your life. I have." As I said this, I glanced at Aaron. His expression softened as he heard this.
"Carrie," his voice went up slightly.
"Kian, I'm sorry. But it's time. And you're the one who ended it in the first place." I took a deep shaky breath and shut my eyes for a second too long, trying to stop myself from crying.
