Chapter 9: Can i learn to trust again?

(Yui's pov)
I sat beside Tothless as the two legs and there partners stand in front of the two of use, Violet standing outside eating fish. The blonde named Astrid was talking to Toothlesses partner about me making me feel slightly uncomfortable, Toothless must of seen this as he walked up to Hiccup and nudged him telling him to stop. Hiccup looked at Toothless then to me seeing that I was looking elsewhere and figiting.

"Oh I'm sorry" he apologises rubbing the back of his neck. Toothless walks over to me and hiccup moves closer after him making me move back slightly in fear,

"It's ok he won't hurt you Yui, he just wants to help" Tothless purrs reashoringly trying to ease my fear and nervousness.

"Hay girl I know your scared but there's no need to be, no one will hurt you here, your safe, we just what to help you and your Natter friend recover that's all" hiccup said gently as he stand in front of me with his hand slightly raised so it's level with my nose turning his head slightly away "maybe I can trust them.. well only him for now... but maybe.. the past won't repeat itself .. "I think hesitated moving silently forward into his hand.

Before my nose made contact with the parm of his hand I started to shake as a memory ran through my head

*flash back*

Four men stand in front of me as I was backed up into a wall protecting Violet a day after my pack abandoned me and her, there faces were filled with greed and they were snickering amongst themselves,

They raised there spears and swords and I courered in fear

'Mother, father. Why did you leave me. I'm so scared. Please help me!' I pleaded to no avale the men ruffly grabbed me and Violet, pushing our heads to the ground and tightly tieing our wings and body's. I close my eyes as I start to cry.

'You are too weak to be called a nightfury let alone one of my blood. Always giving up, always reling on others for the most simplest things. Pathetic' my fathers angered words went through my head as I lay there shaking. I heard a metal grinding sound so I opened my eyes, my puplas dialated tightly in fear at what I saw, they had a knife raised above me ready to strike.

'I'll prove you wrong father, I'll show you I'm strong enough to be called a nightfury!' I told myself as I aimed my tail for his leg...

*end of flashback *

I back up from his hand and hung my head low in shame "I.. I-I can't.... I'm sorry" I said moving back everyone was looking at me with consern as I was whimpering and shaking "hay you don't have to be comfortable straight away, just go at your own pace" Hiccup said calmly lowering his hand with a small smile, I look up at him and give a small nod.

*time skip- later that day*
I lay In the open dragon pen in the arena like pit facing the wall 'why did  I think of 'that' time? He's not like those hunters from then. He's a friend of us dragons, he's good of course I can trust him!.. so why did it bring up that fear...' I think my ears falling to pick up on the sound of someone approaching from behind me.

"Yui?" The voice says making me jump up to my feet from fright, my injuries stinging in protest to the fast movement

"Owww" I grown at the pain before looking at who startled me to find a concerned Toothless.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to startle you! I just wanted to tell you that Valka, Hiccups mother, is here to have a look at you" he said in a rush avoiding eye contact with me, his embarrassment I found was quite ..cute?

"It's alright I know you didn't mean to startle me, and thanks for coming to tell me" I say with a chuckle as I walk by him to meet the lady named 'Valka' trying to put on a braves face over the fact I know nothing about her and my fear of humans' let's just hope she is nice' I think stepping out to come face to face with Hiccup and the slim woman from the strange building from when I first found my way to Berk standing there waiting with a walm and kind smile that grow wider layed eyes on me.

"Oh she's has red eyes! Your even more beautiful and stunning awake!" She said with excitement and curiosity sparkling in her eyes as she stepped forward crouching and raising her hand, my eyes trailed it as she moved, her movement putting my in some kind of trance, I felt calm and not so afraid, my mind went clear, no thoughts buzzing around my head.

I lay down and tilt my head to the side, Valka caringly ran her walm hand along my jaw relaxing me further and for some reason I didn't mind her touch.

it was strange she held no greed, or anger, she was calm and had no fear and she raitated understanding and trust. I could tell just by her actions. Don't get me wrong Hiccup dose seem to be the same to but he was also talking about me in front of me maybe that's why I wasn't able to touch his hand and when I tried it brought those memory's up.

"She's been though quiet a lot I see, oh, I didn't see this earlier but she's also the same age as Toothless and you, what are the odds!" She said noticing the pale white faded scars visible under the cloth wraps around my neck and on my right wing from the hunters and their traps, and some ones from fights agenced other dragons where they grabbed my neck or other parts of me. What shocked me and I believe Toothless and Hiccup was that I was the same age as them.

"Do you think her reluctance for being touched by humans is because of some of her scars?" Hiccup asks stepping closer, Toothless by his side' when did Toothless move?' I shake my thought away, purring as valka scratched under my jaw with one hand and ever so gently skimmed her fingers over a faint white scar on the right side of my neck from the time I first Incounted the four hunters, one of their spears grazed my neck when I fought them, not fatal but deep enough to leave a mark.

"It seems she was attacked and hurt by a spear of sorts, most likely by a dragon hunter, by the looks of it it's quite old..." she trailed of still rubbing the old scar, Hiccup stood by his mother, Toothless stood in front of me shock written clearly on his face at the news of my scars.

*Toothless's pov*

I stared down at Yui as Valka scratched her glossy white scales her red eyes relaxed starting back at me, shock written on my face 'she has scars? Who would ever do such a thing to her, who would want to ruin those gorgeous white scales of hers? I won't allow someone to ever hurt my Yui!' I avert my eyes to the side at the thought that I called her mine a blush heating my face as I step closer and sitting beside her, my tail over hers as a sign that I was here for her. my face turned the other was out of embarrassment.

Her eyes followed my movement and a noticeable blush dusted her cheeks her ears turned slightly which made her look all the more adorable in my eyes, I couldn't help it I looked at her and just couldn't look away.

Out the corner of my eye I saw Hiccup and Valka smiling at us which only made me blush more.

I've desired to try to upload chapters again for this story as I write them so there is really no day I'll update that goes for my other story's too as me being me is a lazy sod and half the time doesn't write down what I want to for the story.... that or get too into other people's amazing story's to think or work on my own. Hehehe.
