Caelie's POV
I heard a faint jingling of keys coming from the outside of the apartment door about thirty minutes after I finished my hot chocolate. Aw, Avery's here already? I quickly got up from my seat on the couch and walked to the kitchen, where I placed my used cup in the sink and made a nice serving of hot cocoa for Avery in her favorite mug. When I went back into the living room, Avery was sitting on the couch, taking off her shoes.
"Avery?" I asked quietly, not knowing how she would react.
She slowly looked up, slightly smiling when she saw me standing in front of her.
"Hey."
"You tired?"
"Yeah, very."
I nodded and sat down next to her, with the warm, candy cane colored mug in my hands. This is one of the few moments when I'll be nice enough to not make fun of her, and just kind of stay in the background.
"Uh, I made some... hot cocoa for you, if you want."
Her drooping eyes shot wide open at the mention of hot cocoa. I raised my eyebrows at her, knowing that she loves this stuff. I gave it to her, and she sipped it carefully, as it was still a bit hot. She finished it in minutes, then set the cup back on the table.
"Mmm."
I smiled as she slowly laid her head on my lap, soft snores coming from her slightly ajar mouth. I rolled my eyes at her when I realized that she fell asleep. I cautiously lifted her head from my lap, stood up, and set her head down on the couch. I propped her head up on a small pillow and covered her in a blanket that enveloped most of her body. She must be exhausted if she fell asleep that easily. The Avery that I know would be bouncing off of the walls if she drank hot chocolate. I turned on the light in the kitchen and in my bedroom before turning off the Christmas lights that I had set up, so that I won't be in the dark. I grabbed Avery's mug and set it in the sink in the kitchen. I would wash it tomorrow. As I walked past the living room, I looked at Avery's sleeping figure. Oh, Avery. What would you do without me. I shook my head as I made my way to my bedroom. I got ready for bed with the lights turned off, which was a pretty big thing for me, since I didn't trip. Not once. I got comfy in the covers of my bed and fell asleep.

BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. BE-
I turned off that stupid alarm. What time was it? I grabbed my phone off of my bedside table and checked the time. 7:30 AM. Monday, December 12, 2011. Oh right, I have to go to work. I forced myself out of bed and took a quick shower. I picked out my normal outfit of a green t-shirt, a grey hoodie, blue jeans, and red Vans. Luckily, where I work doesn't require a uniform. Mainly because barely anyone will actually see me. I got my bag and put in my wallet, phone, apartment keys, and other little things. While walking through the kitchen, I grabbed my car keys and a breakfast bar to eat on the way to the studio. I looked at Avery as I strode through the living room. She was still sleeping. Well, it was only about 7:45 in the morning, so I can't really blame her. Maybe her boss let her have today off, since she 'worked' a lot yesterday. I wonder if she did anything after I ended that call with her. Oh, well.
It wasn't as cold today as it was yesterday (thankfully), so I didn't need to bundle up that much. I jogged to my car and drove off to the small town where my studio was located.

It took only a little while for me to get to Aelburn, the art studio that I work at. I love drawing and coloring, it's one of the only things that I take pride of in myself. It's not really that big of a company (it only has two branches, including the one that I work at), but it pays pretty well. Really well, actually. You'd be surprised to see how many people actually buy my and other people's drawings.
