Caelie's POV

[2012]

"Where did that bloody brush go," I mumbled to myself as I hurried around my room. I need to clean this place up, it's gotten a lot messier since the day that Avery lost her bet with Niall. I still laugh at her for that.

After not being able to find the thing, I dropped to the floor to search under my dresser and such.

"Aha!" I found it under my bed. I stood up, ran the brush through my hair a couple of times, and tied my hair into a ponytail before grabbing my backpack and rushing out the bedroom door. As I passed the kitchen, Avery came out of her room, looking well-rested and ready to take on the world. Isn't there a movie or something with a tagline like that? Eh, never mind.

Although she looked, well, not tired at all, Avery was rushing around, same as I was earlier. She was muttering to herself, probably reminding herself of what she needed to do.

"Hey," I caught her attention. "Want me to wait for you? Or you'll just meet me in the lobby or something?"

"Uh," Her eyes lingered on her duffel bag for a moment. "No, I'm ready. Let's just go."

I grabbed the car keys from their little bowl, and we both made our way to the car outside of the apartment.

"What are you waiting for? Get out! It's almost eleven!" I yelled at Avery, who just sat in the passenger seat after I'd parked the car in the parking lot.

"Jesus Christ, sorry," She yelled back, quickly getting out of the car.

I followed suit and locked the car before walking up the steps of our school, London University.

"Meet you in the cafeteria at 12!" I called over my shoulder. Avery gave ne a thumbs up before we separated to go to our own classes. Even though they started at about the same time, her first class was on the opposite end of the building from the entrance. When she'd complained to the principal about having to walk really far to get to her class, he had just dismissed her with a wave of his hand and an excuse of "Not right now, I'm busy."

I smiled a little in my head as I entered the large auditorium, remembering how furious Avery had been when we got home. She was throwing pillows everywhere, sometimes at me. That session didn't end well, let's just say that Avery and I had to buy a few new glasses.

"Hi, Caelie," Temperance's slight French accent said to me while she sat herself down in one of the many desks.

"Hey, Tempe," I smiled back, sitting next to her. "We didn't have any work to do over the holidays, right?" I asked her, panicking for a second.

She laughed at me. "No, we didn't. Or, we probably didn't," She shrugged. "I didn't write anything in my planner."

"Wait... you have a planner?" I asked.

"Nah. I either write everything down on a sticky note or just try to remember it."

"Eh, fair enough." I do pretty much the same thing.

~

"Oh my God, I hate psychology. Why did I take this course again?" I complained to Tempe after class as we walked to the cafeteria, where I would meet Avery. I am seriously reconsidering taking another course. Psychology is so complicated and hard. I'm not even planning to be one of those counseling people or anything like that. Why did I even start taking this class?

"Uh, you said something along the lines of, 'I hate English, I hate history, and I hate Calculus. Psychology is, meh.' And then you decided to take psychology since it was 'meh' and not 'I hate it with every inch of my heart,'" She replied while smirking at me.
