Chapter sixteen: Lupus

Scarlet POV

Oooww! Damn it! It really hurts, I don't think I can walk. Ugh... my eyes were closed shut. I opened my eyes to see a hand held out. I raised my head up to see the hand belonged to a man, probably a little older then me.

" Are you okay miss?" He asked. He close eyed smiled as I blinked. His hair colour was strange. Not many people had silver hair at least. But it was very pretty and shined in the sunlight. His eyes were a beautiful cerulean blue, so much that I didn't realize I was staring. I took his hand and tried to stand up, forgetting that my ankle was badly sprained. I cringed and fell over. I shut my eyes tightly but I didn't touch the ground. Opening my eyes to see that the man caught me I flinch at his closeness as he carries me bridal style.

" Ah... thank you" I smiled. I felt many jealous eyes glaring at me. I now saw why. It was the same reason I was staring at him. He was very handsome. I didn't even realize it!

" No problem. It seems you sprained your ankle pretty badly. I'm sorry, it was my fault you fell" he apologized.

" Ph..! No! It was my fault. I wasn't looking!" I quickly said.

" I don't think you would be able to walk any time soon. Hmm..... I know! I have a herb that can heal these sorts of things quickly! I can give you some"He offers.

" Ummm..." should I? Gil would be mad... "Sure... Thank you very much" and so that was how I ended up in a hotel suite. He wrapped a bandage around my ankle after putting the herb on it. It took a few hours but it healed.

" Thanks, I don't know how to repay you. ....Wait...! I never got your name" I realized I never asked him.

" Ph yeah. My name is Lupus but you can call me Lupa for short" he introduced.

" I'm Scarlet. Nice to meet you. Anyway, is there anything I can do to repay you?" I asked.

" Hmmmm... I know! Are you free today?" He asked.

" Yup. I don't have anything planned but I should be back by eight o'clock. And I'm leaving tomorrow morning" I replied.

" Good! Spend the day with me and I'll call it even." He replied.

" Eh? It that all? I mean, you help me a lot and I can at least treat you to something" I said.

" Hehe... Ok then. Let's get some ramen!" He said and so we went to get some ramen. I payed for him and myself.

" Let's do something else! Oh! There's a festival" he dragged me to the festival. We played many games, like gold fish catching and shooting games and other things. He also got him and me matching necklaces. Mine was a gold one and Lupa-san got a silver one. While he was putting on the necklace on me he also saw the one Gil gave me.

" Where did you get this one?" He asked.

" Oh. A friend gave it to me" I replied.

" Oh.... What's his name....?" He asked.

" How did you know it was a he?"

" Hehe... I guessed.." he answered.

" Hmm. His name is Gil" I paused and looked to the rose necklace." I felt so ....happy when he gave this to me..." I realized that he looked a little down when I said that." I love this necklace too! Thank you Lupa-san" I said and he smiled again.

" Okay! Let's go to the next stall!" So we did that until 7:30 PM and I had to leave.

" It was a lot of fun. I hope we'll see each other again" I smiled.

" Yup" he looks at me with a look I couldn't decipher. " If fate wills it" he smiled as well with that same look.
So, I went back to the submarine to once again be scolded by Gil.

" Scarlet! Where were you the whole day?" He asked. Geez, he's such a worrywart.

" I sprained my ankle, Lupa-san helped me out and we went out to get some ramen" I quickly explained. He looked dumbfounded.

" Lupa-san?" He asked. " Wait..? A guy?"

" Yup"

" You were hanging out with a guy?!" He grabbed my shoulders." You shouldn't trust people that easily! Especially guys! I mean, you're a girl! Did he do anything to you?! Are you okay?!"

" Yeah...! He treated my ankle too. He was really nice"

" I'm happy you aren't hurt but... don't trust people that easily! I mean......" I tuned out for the rest of the scolding.
I swear, he's like a overprotective older brother. I wonder if I'll ever meet Lupa-san again? I think I know why I'm so fond of him. Because we're very much alike. I hope I'll see him again.
