Chapter nineteen: The Curse Is Made Known

Gilbert POV

It was nice meeting Scarlett's uncle. He was very much like Scarlet. Not in looks but in personality. I didn't think they were so similar before. Maybe it's a side that Scarlet hasn't shown me yet or didn't have the need to yet.
Or maybe they're both bipolar?

" Let's find Luffy and the others..! Oh yeah.... I haven't told you about my crew yet" Scarlet beamed.

" ..... You're a pirate now? The straw-hats?" Clifford asked.

" Yup! My captain's an air-headed Baka. We have a money loving navigator. A swordsman who always sleeps and gets lost. A cook who is perverted. A long nosed lier who's our sharp shooter. A tanuki( she still thinks it's a raccoon dog)whose our doctor. A really pretty architect. A robot guy who wears a speedo as our ship's engineer and a skeleton who asks the girls to see their panties" she smiled.

" Oh... It seems ...very hectic for you every day" he grins hesitantly. Wait. We have to find Luffy and the others!

" Oh yeah! We have to find them! Luffy and the others" Scarlet took the words right out of my mouth.

" Yeah let's go" I grinned. We didn't have to walk that much really because right when we opened the door, we were wrapped around in Luffy's gommu arms and dragged into a cart of some sort.

Scarlet POV

" Luffy! There you are. We were going to look for you. I guess now we don't" I grinned as he grinned back.

" How did you get here?" Asked Nami.

" Hehe... Law brought us!" I realized that Law was also here." ....Law..!" He looked towards me and then looked down. I saw Gil stomp past me to Law and then punched him square on the cheek.

" Law! Why did you betray us?!!" Gil yelled. He looked away as I approached them. I felt everyone's eyes on us. I was just as confused as everyone else.

" Law. Please tell us your reason" I said quietly. He looked up.

" He told me to and so I did." He gestures to my uncle.

" Is that all....?!! Do you not care for us at all?!" Gil raised his hand and curled it into a ball. Smack! Gil punched Law on the jaw yet again. Gil turned away and walked to the other side of the cart(?) pulling me with him.

" .....I'm scared... Gil.. I don't want to lose another friend. What should I do...?" I looked to Gil.

" Don't trust him anymore. He betrayed you. He is no long our friend" Gil said harshly.

" But... he-... sniff*" tears rolled down my cheeks. I cried into Gil's chest as he hugged me. After a bit, when my tears dried, we finally got to the exit. The light flooded my eyesight as I saw Franky fighting a woman and a.. flying person? Wah?
Franky finally defeated them and they left us to celebrate. Everyone was happy and.. why were the Marines here? Yeah.... nevermind. I stopped in my thoughts as I saw Clifford-san walk over with a grave face.

" What's wrong Clifford-san?" I asked.

" I ......wish to relay your mother's last words" He said as my eyes widened.

" ...My ...mother's....last words?"

" Yes. She talked about a ......curse. A curse that is pasted down to all of the ...Tenryuubito..." he said." She had painstakingly said this through blood and tears.... her last words were....
' The one Scarlet loves most... beware.... Scarlet... Do not let the curse take hold... You will take the life of the person you love most... Beware of the Dragon's Curse..."

" The... Dragon's Curse...?... The person... I love the most...?" I questioned

" Yes.... I'm afraid that ..... it may be ....Gilbert-san.." my cheeks flushed a bit before he left me to my thoughts. I sat down with a bottle of sake thinking about my uncle's words. I drank some sake and closed my eyes before hearing a voice from a certain person.

" Scarlet" Law said and I barely nodded to show that I acknowledged his presence. I kept my eyes closed." I want to say something so can you open your eyes?" Did.. Law just ask me something..? Politely? I slowly opened one eye, still a bit mad at him.

" Yeah..?" I opened my other eye." What do you want?" I asked, hoping that he didn't come to make things worse. If he could apologize then I could forgive him. That would never happen. No way..... But maybe.. just maybe?
