First things first:
Is is 'about' or 'from'?
Like, in my chapter titles?
Or can you use both?
(I ask, because in Germany we can, and I'm really not sure how it is in English.)
Please let me know in the comments :)You are allowed to correct me, whenever I do a mistake anyway, it would help me a lot.
Also, in normally, I write my chapters like every now and then, when I found something I want to write about, or if I have a few thoughts on a topic or whatever.
So please don't be confused, if some parts in the chapter are a little random.Okay, I think, that's all I wanted to let you know, so let's start with the actual part of my blog.
-------------------------------------------------------------1st of October, 2016
I woke up this morning, to the sun shining through my window. It was a Saturday, and it was my birthday.
It was the first birthday, I would spend away from home, not with my family and friends.
My parents already texted me the evening before, at 11pm, saying it already would be the first October in Germany, wishing me a great birthday, and asked me, how it would feel to be "finally 17?"
A few friends of mine texted me too, wishing me a great day and whatever, and I kinda wished, they could be with me that day.I went downstairs, to the kitchen, where I already saw my host mom and Nino.
They both wished me a great birthday and gave me presents.
I really didn't thought that they'd get me presents or anything but it was great, and any kind of homesickness was washed away immediately.
I unwrapped my presents, and they were absolutely perfect.
I got a few colored pencils, a little bit of watercolor, a sketch book, and a hand cream, which smells like roses, which is one of my favorite smells, by the way. Those presents were just perfect for me, and I really love them. After we had breakfast, I showered, got dressed, and then skyped with my sister and my parents.
Since I'm in my exchange year, I only skyped with family twice, and this was the second time.We talked alot, and it was really nice being able to talk to them, but eventually, I had to go.
I met the ginger queen in an ice cream shop, we got hot chocolate, and talked a lot.
Eventually, we went to the beach, where we sat down, and talked even more. It was great fun.In the evening, my host family and I had dinner, and they even got a cake for me.
It was an awesome day, and I was really happy when I went to bed.Its not all fun and games
It was a Wednesday, when I got the call.
It was my LSC, and she called, to let me know, that Interstudies decided, I'd be on probation now.
As I asked why, she answered, that I haven't had the homework, and I told a teacher that I wouldn't care about school. She said, that they checked in the school about how I was doing, and that they told her that.I can say, for a fact, that that's not true, at all.
Yes, I had not always my homework, but that was because I was moving host family's.
And my teacher asked, if I would repeat the year back in Germany, and I answered: 'yes. So I'm gonna try to have good grades, but if not, its not that important.' because the teacher was rambling on about how she trys to make the lessons so, that we exchange students would understand them, but she has to move on with her class, so I thought I would just mention it real quick, so I would not stop the entire course from learning. But, well, that was obviously a mistake, because, like I found out later, people in Ireland think that teenagers only lie, don't listen to us in any way and my organisation expect, that I'm a robot, which always nods and smiles, just agrees in everything and has perfect grades during my exchange year.
