C h a p t e r 7 《¤》
"Please, let me go." I beg. Terian gives me a pity look.
"I'm sorry. They told me if I didn't I would have to suffer. It's better to see others suffer." He shrugs. I wanted to hurt him. Bad thoughts roamed in my mind. I knew they shouldn't but they did. He grabs me and brings me closer.
"You know, I actually liked you. Your pretty hair and amazing personality, but I knew it had to come to an end." He gives out a dark laugh.
"I won't tell anyone. Just please let me go." I beg some more. I knew I shouldn't. He wasn't going to let me go.
"You know I was actually considering it. But I can't. I love you Rhiannon." He pulls out a gun and puts it against my forehead. I close my eyes as tears spring from my eyes.
"Terian, please don't do this." I open my eyes and see him crying.
"I love you Terian." I whisper before the shot is fired. I fall and everything happens so slow. People's faces pop up and scream for me to take them with me. I scream and shout for them to go away. That's when I noticed where I was....the underworld. All these people died and it's not fair that I'm able to come back to life. Finally I'm on the ground with a pool of blood surrounding me. It's my first time that I die and come back to life.
Slowly my eyes widen and I open my eyes. I sit up and rub my eyes. I didn't want to go to school today but I have to. I look beside me and see Theo. He stirs and then his eyes open.
"Morning. How did you sleep?"
"Could have been better."
"Well we have school." I open my blinds to reveal the sunshine. I smile.
"Hurry, don't want to be late." I chirp. I wasn't going to show what happened yesterday. What happened yesterday happened but I'm fine and I have to get through it. I kick Theo out and return to taking a shower. Once I'm done, I quickly find bright clothes before going downstairs. I was afraid at what u would find. 4 confused faces, breakfast, the boys mad. So many possibilities and I had so little time. The boys sat at the table and sat there chomping on pancakes.
"Thanks." I say to Theo. He nods in response as he hands me a plate.
"So what happened last night?" Matt asks and Riley kicks him.
"Just a bad nightmare."
"No bad nightmare makes you claw at someone." Theo says. Was I clawing at Theo? I continue eating feeling there eyes bore into my head.
"Hurry." Is all Theo says before he exits the room and goes outside. I finish up and wash the dishes. I pull on some shoes and grab my bookbag.
"We got to go to the vet today. I hope nothing comes in the way like yesterday." I nod remembering. Everyone goes in Riley's car but I decide to go in Theo's. I feel much safer with him for some reason. I climb in and wait for Theo to turn on his car. He never does.
"That wasn't a nightmare. You know it wasn't either, what happened."
"It was from the past. It doesn't matter now. Really I'm fine, can we get on with the day?" He nods and he begins to drive towards the school. I partially lied. It was from the past but I will never talk about it, I can't. Once we arrive, I scramble away to my locker to gather my things. We weren't late but I had to get away from them before they made me spill. I take out a few notebooks and then slam my locker. I speed walk to class so I wasn't late and take a seat in the back. Most of the class was still not here and I was trying to keep myself busy. Theo enters talking to some girl and it angered me. I looked away feeling hurt but I decide to play. I make her trip and her papers fly everywhere. I look down with a smile trying not to laugh. The remains of the class snicker. Theo sits beside me.
"Hey." He says and sits beside me. I see the girl sit in front of him.
"Oh hey." I say to him.
"Oh, um Haisley this is Daniela." Daniela turns towards us when she hears her name. I fake smile to her. Her eyes looked panicked. Maybe I went to far....nah. I sit back in my chair and watch her. She plays with her hair and laughs at something Theo said. I roll my eyes and glare a her. She catches me glaring at her and she glares at me. Suddenly my head hits my desk. I groan and Theo's asking me what happened.
"Hey, what happened?" Theo asks.
"Nothing." I say and glare at the girl. She has them too, the powers. Either she has them or I'm going crazy.
"Oh, I think she's probably going crazy." Daniela says and smiles. I smile back and look a Theo.
"Um, be careful next time." He says and goes back to listening to the teacher.

I grab my bag and go down the hall into the cafeteria. The boys were seated near the back and I still haven't seen Susan. I was a little worried but Berry says he saw her in class. I grab my lunch and take a seat next to Theo and Daniela.
"Look what the cat dragged in." Daniela mutters lowly for Theo not to hear. I scowl at her and begin to eat.
"We have to pick Brownie up after school to go to the vet." Matt says and takes a bite out of his pattie.
"Right." I say and nod.
"About that, I can't go." Theo says ashamed.
"What do you mean?"
"Well, Daniela and I have something to do." Theo says and looks at Daniela.
"What? No, we can go another day. I want to get to know Haisley better anyway." Daniela says and smiles at me politely. For a second I don't think of Daniela as a blood sucking slut but then again she is. I smile back at her and nod.
"Correct, I want to meet this girl that you have brought out of nowhere and feels unwelcomed."
"Tell us a little about yourself." Riley says and wipes his mouth with his napkin.
"Well my name is Daniela Witcherson and I'm a crazy slut who has powers." Is what I would think she would say. "Well my name is Daniela Joplin and I have gone to this school once before. I met Theo last year and I've become real close with him. I'm 18 and I'm a senior here." She finishes.
"Interesting." I say. "Anything else you what to add to that?" She puts her said to the side and puts her index finger on her chin.
"No." She says simply.
"Ok well great, you could join us at the vet." Matt says smiling.
"Well than its settled, I'll see you guys after school." Berry says.
"I have to go." I say and get up. I dump my tray and go to my locker. I was excited. I was going to be in a room with Daniela and I'll tell ask her a bunch of questions. I grab my notebook and head to sixth hour. I was so looking forward to seeing Brownie.
"Hey, wait up." Riley calls after me.
"What? I'll see you after school."
"It's important." He insists.
"What is it?" The bell rings and students crowd the halls.
"Theo." He isn't able to finish because lockers are slammed and people begin to talk quite loudly.
"I'll tell you later." I nod and go back to getting my notebook.

After school I grab my bag and go outside. I wait outside so I can at least see Susan before I go, since I didn't see her at lunch. She comes out and jogs down the stairs to me.
"Hey, why weren't you with us at lunch?" I ask.
"Mr. Casern made me stay to finish one of his assignments."
"Oh ok. I have to go, I'll see you later." I say and wave.
"Ok. Can I have your phone number?" I still haven't gotten a phone yet. I smack my forehead
"About that, I need to get one."
"What happened to your old one?"
"I broke it." I say.
"Oh, ok. Well you should get one today."
"I'll email you my number." She nods and I go to Matt who was leaning against my car.
"Theo and Daniela are behind us and Berry and Riley can't join." He says.
"Ok, would it be ok if we could stop by Best Buy? I need to get a phone."
"Sure, if your gonna give me your number." He says playing around. I laugh and nod.
"Ya, now let's go." He begins to drive and I put my whole window down. I put my head out and feel the wind blow my hair around me. I smile remembering a time when I screamed out the window.
"Having fun there doggy?" Matt tried to hold back a laugh. I rolled my eyes.
"What? It hasn't been this nice in a while, feels good." I say and turn up the music.

We had picked up Brownie from my house and we've finally arrived at the vet.
"I'm sorry Daniela, I have to leave. I'll see you guys later." Theo pets Brownie one last time. I wave goodbye to Theo as he climbs in his car and leaves. Daniela, Matt, and I head inside for the check up. Brownie follows behind looking up at the unfamiliar place. He whimpers when I open the door. I pick him up and hold him close to me.
"It's ok. After we are gonna get you some toys." I say trying to bring up his mood. Brownie wags his tail and licks my face. I smile as Matt takes Brownie from my arms so I can do the paper work. After finishing everything. We wait in the waiting room for the person going to attend us. Finally they call us and we happily get out of our seats and follow the doctor. Daniela smiles at him and I roll my eyes.
"Hey Matt." The doctor says.
"Hey." Matt answers hugging the man.
"I'm Allen. So I heard that this little guy was found at your house." He says looking at me. and carefully takes Brownie from me.
"I'm Haisley and yes." I say.
"Well he looks in good conditions. Well probably test him for heart worms and other stuff and then give him his shots." I nod.
"Ok." He makes us leave to get everything done and so we have to wait in the waiting room. From the moment I saw the doctor I knew he was going to be careful with my baby.
"How do you know Allen?" I say curious.
"Uh..Allen is my father actually." Matt says.
"Oh cool." I say and look at Daniela who was chewing gum and looking out the window. I needed to speak with her alone.

"Everything seems great. Are you sure you found him in your house?" Allen asks.
"Yes." I say confused. "Why?"
"He's in perfect condition. Nothing wrong." My mouth hangs open.
"Oh wow."
"I see he's fond of you." I squat down to Brownie. He barks and licks my face.
"Ya."
"So son, where's Riley, Berry, and Theo?"
"Well Riley had something to do, Berry went to hang out with a girl and Theo left just when we arrived."
"So who are these ladies?"
"Well you know Daniela. Haisley just moved here and we have all become close friends."
"That's great. You should bring them over one day. I bet your mom would be glad to have them over."
"Ya." I could tell Matt and his father were close.
"Well bye dad. I'll see you later. We have to get this little guy some toys." Matt says and pets Brownie.
"Ok bye." We get in Matt's car and drive to the closest pet store.
"Matt how about you stay here and I'll go with Daniela. I want to get to know Daniela."
"Ya ok. I'll stay here with Brownie." I nod and get out with Daniela. We walk together up the steps and in the store. I grab Daniela's hand and bring her to the back of the store. I focus on time and stop it. I have done it rarely.
"Who are you?" I say.
"Look, I came into town to change my ways." Daniela says truthfully.
"So you are one of them. What kyne did you come from?"
"I am. I was from kyne 6." She says and looks down.
"Don't worry. I won't tell anyone....I am one too." I say.
"Oh great. Please can we just get along."
"Yes. I'm sorry we got off on the wrong foot. Truce?" I pull out my hand.
"Truce." She shakes my hand and we smile at each other.
"You should really continue time."
"Right." I focus and then I hear the customers again. We laugh and look for different toys.

After finding the best toys for Brownie, we go back and find Brownie cuddled up with a sleeping Matt. I giggle and go to the window. I smack the window hard and Matt jumps up looking around. He unlocks the car and we climb in.
"You could have tapped."
"What fun does that have?" I ask. Daniela giggles as well and then we all burst out laughing.
"Where to?"
"The beach duh." Daniela says and laughs.
"It's too beautiful to stay inside." I say. I turn up the music and Daniela and I begin to sing along to Too Good by Drake. Once we arrive at the beach I grab Brownie's brand new leash and put it on. I run with Brownie down the hill towards the water. The sun was still up and it was around 5. It was beautiful and I wait for the others to come down by me.
"Well lookie here." Someone says behind me. I knew who it was without looking behind me.
"Bryce what do you want?"
"Nothing, just passing by. Where's dream boy?"
"Theo? He's busy."
"What are you doing here alone?" He was making me feel uncomfortable. He smirked and Brownie growls. Bryce looks down at Brownie and laughs.
"This is your dog?" He continues laughing. Where were Matt and Daniela.
"Yes and he's going to rip you to shreds if you don't leave." Bryce chuckles. He then looks out to the ocean.
"He won't do anything." Bryce gets closer and puts his hand on my cheek. I look away from him and try to take a step away but he keeps me in place.
"Leave me alone. Bryce please just leave." I mutter...he doesn't, I he comes closer. Suddenly he pushes his lips onto mine. I put my hands on his chest and push him back. He doesn't budge. I pound against him and then I use my last option. I hit him in the nuts. He still doesn't let go, instead he bites my lip. That gives me an idea. I bite hard on his lip and then he finally let's go of me. I hold Brownie back from biting Bryce.
"Bitch!" He shouts at me. I watch as he wipes away blood. I do as well.
"Sorry did I hurt you?!"
"You're gonna pay for that." Bryce grabs my hair and pulls it. Bryce kicks Brownie. He whimpers and runs away. Bryce pushes me backwards making me land in my butt on the hard sand. Bryce gets on top of me and looks me up and down. I could easily take him but I knew if I did I would probably be in a cell. I was made to be a killing machine. I'm going to own it. I pull him off of me and look him straight in the eye.
"You haven't seen me since the day at the coffee shop. Where ever you go now to whom ever, you were taking a walk. Understood?"
"Yes." He responded like a robot. I walk away.
"Matt? Brownie? Daniela?"
"There you are. We've been looking for you. Brownie was going ballistic and I didn't know what to do." Daniela says.
"I accidentally ran into a crab. I let Brownie go and so I guess he went to go find help or something." I say lying.
"I can tell you're lying. We'll talk about it later." Daniela says. Matt runs up to us.
"Where have you been?!"
"Long story short a crab attacked me." Brownie growls and I glare at him.
"Um...ok?"
"Berry called, he says we have to get back. Somebody broke into his house." My eyes widen and I nod, grabbing Brownie's leash.
"Wait!!" I say.
"What?" Matt says annoyed.
"We have to get my phone....now!" I begin to run and slide into Matt's car. I hear Daniela and Matt mutter stuff.
"Come on." I whine.
"Ok ok."

A bunch of minutes later, I had my phone and we have arrived at Berry's house. It was home like and there were a few policeman outside and a very stressed out Berry running his hands through his hair multiple times.
"Berry, keep that up and you'll end up bald."
"It's just I'm mad. They broke in and didn't steal anything "
"We're they supposed to?" I ask confused.
"Well y- no. They weren't. It's just they didn't leave anything behind!" I pat his back.
"They are gonna find this person, don't worry. For now, be lucky that you weren't in there at the time. Something bad could have happened." He nods
"Your right. Thank you." Theo appears out of nowhere.
"Sorry I'm late. Business with the family." I roll my eyes.
"They haven't found anything." Berry says bitterly.
"Hey please, shut up. What did I just tell you?" I say putting my hands on my hips.
"They'll find something and that at least I wasn't in there."
"Correct. Now go get something to drink." I say and push Berry. He grunts but follows my directions.
"Wow, you can surely do damage." Theo says and laughs.
"Daniela's over there waiting for you." Theo chuckles.
"What about Daniela?" He whispers huskily in my ear sending chills down my back.
"Sh-"
"Sh..don't say anything." Theo walks forward and puts my face in his hands. I let go of Brownie's leash. His eyes roam over my face. The wind pushes my hair in my face but Theo brushes it away.
"You have pretty eyes." That's when I smell the familiar scent.
"Have you been drinking?" I ask him. He puts his hands up.
"No?"
"Theo?" I say slowly.
"Maybe."
"How much?" I ask.
"Let's see." He puts his fingers up."One, two, three, four five six seven eight nine ten eleven twelve thirteen fourteen fif-"
"I get it, alot."
"Yup." He hiccups.
"Go home and get some rest. It's getting late."
"Ya I should. Bye Haisey boo." He says and walks off. Well that was interesting.
"Daniela?" I ask.
"Hey, what was that about?"
"A very drunk Theo." I say chuckling.
"Really. I've never seen a very drunk Theo."
"Me neither until now." I laugh. "I was wondering if you wanted to come over and talk."
"Ya we should talk.
"Ok I'll see you there." I walk away and begin to walk home. There's a honk.
"Hey, why walk?" Theo pulls up beside me.
"Weren't you drunk?" I ask.
"Was I?" He confused me even more but I climb in not wanting to walk.
"So home?"
"Yup. Daniela and I are gonna have a girl's night to get to know each other."
"What about Susan?"
"What about her? I haven't seen her since school and I'm supposed to email her my number anyway so I won't be able to contact her until tomorrow."
"Chill I was just asking if she was gonna join you guys but I guess not."
"Sorry it's just that I finally found my bestfriend and she disappears now and then with freaking bad excuses. I don't know what she's up to and I don't want to find out."
"She's busy or her 'mom' stuff."
"Ya I'm starting to get it now." I say mad. Theo laughs and I roll my eyes. I prop my elbow on the window and lay my head on my hand.
"You know, maybe Daniela isn't so bad."
"I hope not because she's my cousin and bestfriend and I don't need you hating on her."
"Cousin?"
"Ya Daniela is my cousin."
"But she said you guys met last year."
"Ya she was a long lost cousin, we figured out. We have grown close and I guess she moved back from Texas." Realization dawned on me. That's why she was being like that. She didn't want her new cousin to get hurt by a girl, me. I smiled.
"Oh that's great!" I say smiling widely.
"Um ok? We're here."
"Oh right. Thanks for the ride I'll see you tomorrow."
"Bye email all of us your number."
"Ok bye Theo boo." I say laughing remembering what he called me when he was drunk or whatever. Theo glares at me. I grab Brownie's leash, open my door and turn on the lights. I almost scream when I see Daniela sitting on my counter eating an apple. I put my hand on my chest.
"Jeez, you're trying to give me a heart attack. How the heck did you even get in here?"
"The back door was opened." She says simply.
"Ok let's get down to business. I'm tired af and I haven't had a good sleep in days." I take Brownie's leash off and put down the bag filled with Brownie's things.
"Ok you escaped at what age?"
"16." I answer truthfully."You?"
"Same. Did you have to learn the rules?"
" I was told by my doctor person thingy guy."
"I was lonely. I didn't have anyone until I found my cousin, Theo."
"Well I have never had anyone either. Until now, I've given up on the rules. I've decided to keep low but lead a life."
"That's what I'm doing."
"Ok. We are pretty alike."
"Have you had any romances?"
"Ya didn't last long because of the rules."
"So now you don't care and you're going after my cousin."
"What? Look I'll admit I might have a slight crush on him but I'm not taking him away from anyone."
"Good. Now I'm crashing here because I don't feel like walking home."
"Fine with me." I walk upstairs and change into pj's. I get my computer and send my phone number to everyone. Then I say goodnight to Daniela and Brownie before getting under the covers. I turn to the side and sigh. It was late but I knew I wasn't gonna sleep right now. I look at the ceiling and make weird shapes with my mind. I smile. I close my eyes and take a deep breath. I knew today I was gonna dream.
