Austins POV
"So you just left her?" Alex asks me while I was telling the story. I looked at him and nodded no.
"What happened after she said all that stuff?" He asked again.
"I couldn't let her walk home. Her house is like 3 miles away. Here. Let me tell you what happened" I said.
Flashback.
I sat there for a couple of minutes then it occurred to me I can't just leave her like that. I thought to myself.
I started the car, backed up and drove towards her. I started driving on one road that looked familiar. I kept on driving until I saw her. Her hands were crossed. I pulled up to her.
When she saw my car she stopped then I stopped. I rolled down the passengers window and I looked out.
"Get in." I looked at her. Her cheeks red and her eyes were tearing. She uncrossed her arms.
"Austin I can't I ..." She sniffed.
"Get in Amber. Your house is 3 miles away from here." I interrupted her. She looked around and grabbed the handle. The door swung open and she got in. I started driving and its awkward.
Whenever I try to look at her she turns her head and looks out the window. So I turned on the radio. The song Beautiful Soul by Jesse McCartney started playing. I look over Amber and she started crying. She buried her face in her hands and bursted out crying.
I patted her shoulder, still looking at the road and said "Hey. Don't cry."
"What happened? Is it me?" I questioned her. She lifted her face out of her hands. Her make up was running. I stopped patting her shoulder and looked at her.
"No. its not you...." She started wiping her tears away.
"What is it then?" I asked her.
"Its this song...." She hesitated.
"Remember when you covered this song in Texas. When you weren't famous." She looked at me. I nodded and looked at the road.
"When I hear this song I cry because I remember the old you and...." She started crying again.
"and what?" I stared at the road.
"And I remember you singing covers in your room in Texas and now you're going on tour today..." She looked up and continued.
"I'm so proud of you Austin." I pulled up at her neighborhood.
"Thank you. That means a lot to me. But..." I said.
She looked at me "But what?" I pulled up to her driveway.
"But..." I pressed on the breaks and looked at her.
"You broke up with me and then you just said that you're proud of me...." I tried looking into her eyes but she didn't look at me.
"That doesn't make any sense Amber." I growled.
"I don't know. You have to work on your singing carr..."
"carrer and you have to work on your school. Yea I know. But we can work this out.." I finished her sentence. I turned to her but she didn't look at me
"I know that you have to stay here and work on yourself but we can still be together...."
"I want to be with you" I stopped talking.
She sighed and said "I know that you want to be with me but Im not the one for you. I'm not that one mahomie. I'm not her. I jus.."
"How do you know you're not the one for me?" I cut her off. She didn't answer.
"How?" I questioned her again but she didn't answer.
"HOW AMBER!?" I screamed.
"I DONT KNOW AUSTIN! ... " She screamed back. Intensity filled the car.
She calmed down and said "I don't know." again. Her eyes were watery.
"I just need time..." She sniffed. We waited there for a couple of minutes then she spoke.
"Good luck on your tour." She quickly said. She then got out of the car and started walking towards her house. I watched her open the front door, stopped, look back and then went inside.
End Flashback.
"So she needs to work on herself." Alex repeated. He looks at me and gets up.
He puts his hand on my shoulder and says "I'm sorry bro..." He starts walking away.
"There's plenty of fish in the sea." He said.
Then i realized, I don't want other girls. All I want is her.
