Chapter 10

I was on my first assignment with the cops. The training really seems to help. I have focused my abilities, enough. They don't want me doing anything big yet, so they sent me on this stupid mission. I have studied with my free time all I can about solars and radiation. They sent me to pick up a solar, with force if necessary. I have backup of coarse. Ear pieces and this weird suit. It help me focus my powers. They also gave me these glasses. My powers are different from what they have seen, so they made these glasses just for me. I don't even know what their even for. I have to admit, I have become over confident in my abilities, but that never hurt anybody before. I don't think. "Turn on your glasses John." Murray says through coms. I tap the side of my glasses and they turn a different shade. They show solars from normals. I immediately spot him. I look around and see others close by. Well it looks like a trap. I open my mouth to tell Murray, but something stop me. Maybe it's cause I'm mad or too confident, but I take out my ear piece and put it in my pocket. I can take them. Plus I have the element of surprise. They don't my power or that I know their here. I switch my glasses to element signature, looking for something specific. Then I see it, fire. I can see the element inside someone. These glasses sure do come in handy. I come out of hiding and walk toward the solar. I look at his signature and see some sort of metal inside him. He sees me coming, he looks nervous. I switch my glasses into battle mode. My glasses analysis the solar in front of me. Let's do this.

I'm peeking around the corner and see Lincoln talking to John. He has the same suits we do, just looks a little better. He has the glasses on, they have these kind of glow. So does his suit. Weird. Something doesn't feel right about this. He's not going to join I know that. He's going to be angry at me and life. Who knows what the police told him about me. I take a step towards him, but Daniel pulls me back. "Not yet." He says. I hear Lincoln tell John the story about how we can protect you and help you control your powers, Etc. I hear John laugh. That's not good. Lincoln try's to keep his cool. "The police are out to hunt us, kill us. Take our gift away." Lincoln says. "I don't care. You know why? My dad died cause of Sam's so-called gift. People die all around cause of our gift. It's contagious. Either you become the die or become the disease. So I'm going to end this. For my father and to save more people from getting sick from someone living with them." John answers. "Why don't you face it Sam? What are you so afraid of?" John, talking to me now. "I bet every time you look at my face, I remind you of him." John continues like he's talking through the wall I'm behind. How does he know I'm here? Lincoln's body turn into metal, changing John's attention. "I'm sorry to do this." Lincoln says. He takes a swing. No! I can't let them kill him. I step out of cover just to see, in the blink of an eye, John behind him. Lincoln looks around for him. John run all around him, but too fast for my eye to follow. Then I see John stop, raise his hands, they start glowing and a surge of energy come out and hits Lincoln sending him back. I trigger my speed and run over there. "Why am I always the test dummy." Lincoln mumbles. I look back at John. He's staring at me. "This is crazy John. I didn't mean to hurt anyone." I plead. "Oh, but you did. I have no father. Look what you've done to me!" He screams. I'm startled. I see cops round the corner. That might get messy. I run to them faster than they can blink and take out their legs. They all fall to the ground, unconscious. As I about to run back, I see John move into super speed too. We move move like we were running and everything was pause. But he was running faster. He rammed his shoulder into my stomach and I go flying back. "I don't want to fight you." I say, struggling for air. "It's too late for that." He reply. I see behind him, water has risen from the ground behind him, forming a snake. It wraps around him strangling him. I see Daniel standing close by, hands out. John's eyes glow through the glasses he has on. Energy beam come from every part of him body and strike Daniel. He flys back. I get up and send a blast his way, one that won't kill him. He ducks out of the way just in time. I see Luke above him. He has both hand together and aimed at John. John starts to run figure eight patterns at super speed, making it hard for Luke to get a fix on him. I run forwards and see him there running. I tackle him away. My eyes started to glow with fire. John looked scared. But then, he smiled. His eyes glowed with energy. I was looking at him one second the next concrete. He kicked me forward from behind. I fell on my face. Luke shot at him with the deadly yellow energy. John's was more orange. I got up and sprawled out my hands in front of me, and blasted beams of flames at John. Aiming right behind him. He took off, my beams following. It caught up to him and he went flying. I see Lincoln make a bow and arrow out of metal and start shooting. Luke is blasting away and Daniel is creating a massive amount of water. John dodges them all. When he finally realizes he's out gunned, he turns and in a blink he and the unconscious cops are gone.
