"What happened? We lost coms with you." Murray drills me as I come through the door. "Things went south. It was a set up. They had 4 guys there. My com got taken out out." I lie. "How did they know you would be there? Did you recognize anyone there?" Murray asks. "I don't know how they knew I would be there. There was one guy there that could change his whole body into metal. One guy who could control water and one guy who could fly and shoot lasers." I say. "That's only three." Murray raises an eyebrow. I nod. "Sam was there. There was something weird though." I say. "What?" Murray asks. "His eyes looked like they were on fire." I say. Murray doesn't say anything. "What!" Murray finally says. "I don't know maybe he has been training and getting better too." I say. "No. this is not something training does. His powers must have grown. He has to let it out somewhere." Murray says. "Get all of them to medical." Murray says to the doctor. "That's a bad gash John." The doctor says. I look down and see a wound. I know where I got it from. Fire. "That's interesting. Your energy is powering to heal your wound. You could heal faster than normal people, much faster." The doctor says. The lights flicker. "Ah that makes sense. Your draining power to heal." The doctor says. "I wonder what would happen if you drain a lot of power while being perfectly healthy." He says talking to himself now. I know what would happen. I was debriefed and let go. I walk to my house and fall asleep.

I step back into a warehouse. This is where I've been staying? Interesting. I'm too exhausted right now. It had been a walk back. No one picked us up, no one. I stumble in. Chase catches me. "What happen out there?" Chase asks. "This guy is a 4. Energy element. Had some training from the cops, but still seemed new. Tech was new. Had some glasses on I've never seen before. It help him know it was a trap. But he still came. He fast. Can shoot energy and his eyes do the kind of thing Sam's does." Daniel says, catching his breath. "Interesting. Daniel debriefing. How'd the new recruit do?" Chase asks Luke as Daniel walks to debrief. "Good. Held his on." Luke says. Thanks. "Well, good. It's too bad he didn't join. Hate to see a 4 go to waste. He too dangerous to keep alive." Chase says. Shivers run down my back. He turns and leaves. We all turn in for the night, but for some reason I can't sleep. I see my phone light up. I pick it up and look at it. There's not suppose to be signal down here. It's Rachael. It says, "Sam, need to speak with you." I look around. Everyone is sleeping. Before you know it I'm outside running to the location Rachael sent me. I see her sending on a bench. This is the local park. She sees me and waves. She comes over and hugs me. I'm surprised, but hug back. "Where did you go? What happened? You just disappeared. There still looking for you. Heck, I'm surprised you showed up here." She says. "I had to go. I couldn't stay with them. I'm sorry. The police can't know I'm here." I explain. She looks a little confused. "Why? There's another reason I ask you here." She says slowly. I raise my eyebrows. "What?" I ask. She pulls out a match, light it and throws it at me. "Are you crazy." I yell as I try to duck out the way. It hit me on the shoulder and catches fire. I pat it out. She walks over and takes my hand and looks at it. "So it's true." She says examining my hand. "Well, if it wasn't true....what then?" I ask. "That wouldn't end well. But I was 66 percent sure the rumors were true." She says. "66 percent!" I say. "Where did you go." She asks. "Nowhere." I say. "Sure. Do you know what you did to John? He now one of you. He hunting you. He's angry, he won't talk to me anymore." She says. "I'm sorry for leaving like that, I couldn't live with what I'd done." I say. "I know, but you need to make things right. Only you know how to do that. Do it before Anger destroys John." She says. Then walks away. I look down at my hands. What have I done?

As I walk through the warehouse door, someone grabs me from behind and puts a hand on my mouth. I can't see who it is, but I do see a finger pointing to a guard 10 feet away looking in another direction. "You don't need to be sneaking out. You were careless, how you got out in the first place is a miracle. Did you not think they would be watching?" I immediately recognize the voice as Michael. Then one second I was looking at the guard the next I'm in our dorm. Michael releases me, I turn around to see Michael shaking his head. "Where did you go?" He asks angrily. "Michael..." I start. "Where did you go?" He asks a little louder. "Rachael texted me, and I went to see her." I say, feeling like a kid in the principal's office. "You went to see Rachael. When you came here, your old life ended. Done. Your not aloud to go out again. Next time I won't be able to save you. If that guard would have seen you, you would have been dead. No one is aloud out without permission. We are not to speak of this again. To tell anyone. I'll take care of your phone, go to bed." He drills me. Then he's gone again. All I can do now is go to bed. I have to be more careful. But i know one thing, I will make things right.
