Chapter 17

I thought heavily on what Lincoln said. I did loathe my powers, like it was a sign of corruption. We went back to the rest of the guys. They all were sitting, some were sleeping. Michael was awake though. They all get up or wake up the ones sleeping as we walk through the alley. I can tell them noticing me. My burned sleeves, dark circles under my eyes. "Good thing I sent Lincoln to look after you." Luke says. "Guess so." I mutter. After that they start discussing what they should do next. I stand up and say, "We go to the police." I get shocked faces. "Why would we do that." Ben asks. "We've all done things that we regret, that we wish we could take back. The police is searching for the rest of the solars, that's our chance to make things right. We find them and do whats right. We may get arrested, but so be it. The police is running against something they don't fully understand. So they need us." I say. Michael slowly stands, "I'll go with you." he replies. "I'll go as well." Lincoln says. then they all start murmuring in agreement. "Then lets go fix whats been broken." I say. 

We head over to the police station. There are two guards at the door. When they see us, they start to move their hand to there gun. "Woa, woa. Were here to surrender." I say with my hand in the air. They look at each other. "Really, 'we surrender'." Michael whispers. "Shut up." I reply. The start talking into their walkies. A group of policemen come out and circle us. Little dramatic for my taste. Then they start patting us down. "Really man." Ben says. Once they're done they handcuff us and start to lead us in. "Also won't do anything." Ben says. I shush him. They lead us through a series of hallways. At the end was the prison cells. They throw us in there, lock the cell and leave. "Well this plan sucks monkey chunks." Micheal says. "They'll be back." I reply. About an hour later. A doctor and John walk up. He looks mad. "Come with us." The doctor says to me. I walk out of the cell and follow him. He leads me to a room with a table and two seats. Why would they send a doctor to interrogate me. Unless he's not a doctor. "Lets get down to business," He says sitting in the chair across from me, "why did you surrender?" "Easy want to help." I say. John laughs. "Can we please do this without him in the room?" I ask. It might be difficult to convince if he's here. The doctor nods to John who walks out of the room. "So you want to help us?" He asks doubtingly. "I can tell you something that will prove ourselves." I say. "And what is that?" He asks with raised eyebrows. "Check your old equipment that you used at the beginning of all this. There is a spy among your  scientists who is feeding them old equipment." I say. His eyebrows shoot up. He stands up and walks to the door and whispers into the guards ear. The guards runs. "If your lying there will be consequences." He warns. "I wouldn't dare." I reply. The guard shows up again and whispers in the doctor. Then they both leave the room. I wait five minutes when someone new comes into the room. "Hi, i'm detective Murray and we thank you for the information. The spy has been apprehended." He says. I nod. "The truth is we do need help and we're to desperate to throw a bunch of fours in the brig. So i'm gonna offer you a deal." Murray says. "I'm listening." I say. "You help us find and stop the solars and you all go free back to your lives. Of course when we find a cure you will be treated." Murray explains. Sounds fine to me. "Ok, I accept." I say. "Good, we will release your friends and take them to the examination  room. You can meet them up there." He says and takes off my handcuffs.

Though i don't like the idea of 'examination', but i go along with it. I find the rest of the team up at the examination room. Man it's HUGE. It has its own building. I didn't know the police even had this. The doctor i met earlier comes up to me and shakes my hand. "Welcome Sam, I have been assigned to you. Of course we met earlier, but not formally. My name is Henri." He says. "Nice to formally meet you." I reply. "Ok follow me." Henri says.  "So what is the place for, like what kind of examination?" I ask. "Well we test your powers, what your powers react to, and of course how your body reacts to your powers." Henri explains. He leads me over to a shooting range. "I'm not gonna be killing people." I say nervously. "We don't want you to kill people, here we test the force of your powers. I have been informed that your a riser." He replies. "A riser?" I ask. "Someone who's powers continue to grow. Also another word you must learn, a super solar. These are solars who's powers prevent them from getting killed from bullets, grenades, knifes and more." Henri explains. "So for instants, you are a super solar since if you were shot the bullets would melt. A grenade doesn't have effect, and a knife would melt. Anyway lets get to it." He says. Then pushes some buttons on his ipad. A brick wall slide into the shooting range. "Blast that wall with as much force you can." He says. "Ok." I say. I extend my hands forward and push out with as much power i can. A huge blast of fire comes out and hits the wall. It disintegrates half way down. Everyone in the building stares at me. "Very good. On to the next one." Henri says like nothing happened.
