The next mourning I'm pulled out of bed. I'm still groggy as I get pulled off. I start to get my senses and say, "What's happening?" That's when I look over and see Michael getting dragged beside me. The only difference is that he is not asleep, he's unconscious. That when I start struggling, but the person dragging me is strong. My hands light with fire. But immediately they are put out. I look over and see Daniel trailing us. "What are you doing? Let me go!" I yell. "You broke the rules and went who knows where." Daniel answers. "What are they going to do to us?" I ask horrified. "I'm sorry Sam." He says. "No! I went to talk to Rachael you have to believe me. Help me Daniel, come on!" I yell at him. "Can't do that." He says with a sad look. I'm going to die for talking to Rachael. These guys are animals. Maybe the rest of the team could help. Then I see the rest of the team being escorted down to a hold cell. They all look at me. I'm dead. Then the guy behind me throws me into a cell.
I waited an hour for something to happen. Finally Daniel came. But I heard Michael's screams long before that. I guess someone found something. "How are you holding up?" Daniels asks. "Your really asking me that. Your standing around while Michael is tortured." I say angrily. "What do you expect me to do, break him out? I'd die, he'd die, we'd all die." He answered. Then it hit me. "You don't want to get out do you. Your a true believer." I accuse. "Where would we go? Everywhere you look it's persecution. I don't want to be cured. At least here you have food water and shelter. Being around people like you. Out there, there's nothing." He says defensively. "Yeah, but you don't have freedom." I counter. "Your unreasonable. The minute you got here you judged. You never thought that maybe some of us here had it tough. You couldn't just follow the rules, you had to mess things up." He says. "Can't you see what's going on here? They don't plan to hug and make up, the pay plan to take over." I plead with him. "I can't do this with you. You messed up, deal with the consequences." He says, then turns and walks away. "Their going to kill Michael you lunatic!" I yell at him. "Their coming for you next." He says back to me. That makes me beat on the cell. Daniel had shown me this earlier, the bars on the cell dampen powers. Hopefully they haven't held a 4 before. I try my powers. Nothing. I use my whole my body and will to try to do one thing. The concentration hurts, but finally the training from the past month pays off. A single flame comes out of one finger. I point it at one cell bar. I only need to cut through one bar. A tiny laser shoots out hitting the bar. My concentration is slipping, but I'm almost through. It stops as I get to the final half inch. I gasp for breath. Once I've caught it, I start on the bottom. Except this time, I only heat up a certain part of the bar. It's less concentration and less pain. I get it to a certain heat. Then I start kicking the bar. A couple more kicks and it bends down to the ground. Then I squeeze through the bars. As soon as I'm out, I feel immediate relief. I walk out the door and elbow the guard beside my door. Then I sweep his feet out from under him. I guess that training paid of after all. It wasn't hard to find the room Michael was in. I followed the screams. The guard there was Daniel. I had to take him by surprise. He sees me and his mouth forms a o. I'm in front of him before he even closes his mouth. I may not be as fast as John or Michael, but it comes in handy. I punch him. "How could you do this to Michael." I say as he grabs his nose. "It's the only way." He answers. I know he will recover soon. This was the guy I look up to. My face starts to light up in flames. I send a blast his way. This blast was aimed at the ground in front of him. The blast sent him flying. I walked through the door as a guy stood in front Michael with a whip in his hand. He rears back and I catch his whip. I pull it out of his hands and through it to the side. He turns to me. He's average height. Long hair, around eighteen. "You just made the biggest mistake of your life." He says with a high voice. "No, I didn't." I say. My voice was dry from the heat. He pulls out a metal ball and throws it at me. It glowed before he threw it. It it me and exploded. That's new. But it made no difference. My jacket caught on fire. I shrugged it off. "My turn." I say. I thrust out my hand and two streams of fire blaze out of them. They slam into him. The force throws him back into a wall. But not a scratch on him. He's immune to fire as well. This will be interesting.
I'm in the holding room with rest of the team. Daniel said he was going to see Michael and Sam. This is Sam's fault. If he didn't break the rules, everything would be fine. "Hey Luke, how long do you think we'll be in here?" Ben asks me. "Don't know man." I answer. He nods. But I get why he did it. He is the most vocal one since he's got here. The rest of the team does share his view, except maybe for Daniel. He was the most powerful of the team. I was excited to have him. He has been good to be around. He's a cool guy. I though he was fitting in. We still don't know who he talked to out there, but we'll know soon. We've all heard Michael's screams. We all have our heads down. Michael has been friends with Sam since the start. It made sense he was the one to help him. He's getting punished. I think it's unfair. Michael was the one that you just had to be friends with. That was just his personality. There was a rumble that went through the warehouse. Dust fell from the ceiling. Another rumble went through and that's when i felt it. Felt the heat. I know we all felt it. Sam.
