I walk out into the kitchen yawning and stretching my arms. The sugary smell of waffles wafts through the air and I can smell the sizzling of bacon.
"'Morning," I say, half asleep. Simon pushes a steaming hot cup of coffee into my hands and I let the warmness of it seep into my fingertips. I take a sip, and sit down at the table.
Baz sets down a plate of waffles in front of me and Simon finishes the bacon. Baz continues to cook, throwing smiles as Simon as he puts a massive amount of syrup and butter on his waffles.
"Well you both seem happy this morning," I say.
"How can you tell?" Simon asks.
"Baz is humming. Baz never hums." I say simply.
"Penny," Simon says, leaning closer.
"Baz figured it out." It takes a moment for my brain to process the new information.
"WHAT?! How?" I say.
"A dream," Baz answers, taking out the last waffle.
"What?" I say again, confused.
"My mother's ghost visited me in a dream. She told me how to fix this."
"YOUR MOM VISITED YOU?"
"In a dream..."
"Wow I can't believe this," I say, in total shock. I abandon my waffle topped with strawberries and whipped cream and ask Baz for every single detail.
It has to be past noon when Micah strolls in.
"Hello sleeping beauty," I say. He always sleeps so late. Me, on the other hand, I wake up when the sun rises.
"Shut up, Penn. Why's everyone so happy?"
"They figured it out," I say, and his eyes widen so big, I'm surprised they didn't pop out of his head.
