2 months later…
“Cas? Cas, where’d you go?” Dean asked through the bunker.
With Sam out on a quick hunt, Dean and Cas had the whole bunker to themselves for the time being. Though it proved to be difficult as the hunter already lost his angel and it hasn’t even been five minutes. Dean, though seeming calm and looking as if he was treating it like a game of hide-and-go-seek, he was terrified. He lost his angel. Let alone his pregnant angel.
“Seriously Cas, this isn’t funny. It was cute at first, but now you’re starting to worry me.” Dean said aloud, searching every room and crevice of the large bunker that Cas could be.
“In here Dean!” He heard a familiar voice down the hallway and gave a huge sigh of relief. Walking down the hallway and turning into an empty room, he found Cas with his chin his hand and staring at the walls.
“Cas? Are you okay?” Dean asked.
“What color should we do for the nursery?”
Dean did a double take to his angel, not believing what just came out of his mouth. They haven’t talked about the future with the baby since they found out, besides the threats from other angels. Though Dean decided he didn’t want to know the gender of the baby until it was born and Cas already knew and wanted to keep everything gender neutral just for the sake of Dean. The hunter never liked the whole idea with frilly pink things for a girl or greens and blues and camo for a boy; he’d like to let their baby decide for themselves.
“I….really don’t know Cas, what did you want to do for the nursery?” Dean asked, a small smirk across his face as he walked up and wrapped his arms around Cas in a protective manner. The angel began to round out at exactly five months sometime last week.
“I was thinking like a light orange or maybe a marigold color for the walls and blankets. We could also do a light beige color as well. What do you think?” Cas asked, wrapping a hand around Dean’s and leaning his head on the hunter’s shoulder.
“Whatever you’d like. You know I never cared for this whole decoration stuff, I’m leaving it all up to you. But if you want my opinion, I think the marigold would look best. That’s a neutral color right?” Dean asked, kissing the angel’s cheek as Cas laughed.
“I do believe it is a gender neutral color, Dean.”
The hunter smirked, kissing Cas’ cheek again. “It’s a good thing you know, because I never would’ve guessed in a million years. That and you wouldn’t tell me what we’re having.”
“No, it’s because you didn’t want to know until it was born, remember?” Cas turned around in his hunter’s arms and put his hands to Dean’s chest, playing with the buttons on his flannel. Dean groaned and rolled his head.
“But why? I changed my mind, I want to know. Please?” Dean pleaded, pulling Cas a little closer to his chest but the angel refused.
“No, you shook on it. We even kissed on it! You can’t take it back!” Cas playfully answered back, pointing his finger into Dean’s chest. The hunter laughed, looking to the finger that was currently pressed to his his chest as he took it and kissed the top of it. Cas couldn’t help but smirk as he collapsed into Dean’s grasp and sighed.
“How much longer?” He muffled into the hunter’s chest.
“Four more months, Cas. Just four more months.” Dean reminded him as Cas just whimpered and rubbed the bottom of his bump.
“I can’t wait that long. I just want it to be over so we can finally have our baby in our arms.” Cas said quietly.
“If you make it that long.” Dean interrupted.
