This was going to have to be done with precaution

Teresa continued to weep, and the clock placed on the wall in the Far East corner of the lab was continuing to diminish precious seconds away. I grabbed the closest box of cleanex's I could find and walked it over towards her. Now was the best time to reveal to her what was really going on.

"Teresa, something terrible had happened to you, after your incident last night with your ex. You see-"

I was suddenly interrupted by the growl of something inhuman. This particular growl was a distinct mixture of high pitched and a low pitch bass that shook lab's walls.

"What was that?" asked Teresa nervously. "That did not sound human."

I directed my attention to where I was almost positive the alarming sound had originated from.

Doctor Clauson's Cocoon

I quickly began to unstrap and unbolt Teresa from her harness.

"Adrian? What is going on? What's wrong? "She asked again, this time with more uneasiness then the last.

"We have to go Teresa. I will explain everything later when I have the opportunity but right now, we must hurry! "I explained in a rushed manor.

As soon as she was free from the platform, I hurried my way over to my computer and began to eliminate whatever could be traced back to the lab. I started deleting old files, coding, future plans, etc. I noticed a folder that I had not noticed before. It had the Hunter and Addison Inc. insignia on it. I had no time to pay that any attention. Instead, my focus was wiping out Enan in its entirety. Making sure that William could NOT in any possible way attempt to capitalize on the project, or cause any more harm by building upon it. I disconnected my phone from my laptop. All the files that I needed to be saved were downloaded to my phone.

The growl began to grow stronger every second. It sounded as if William was tearing himself from his cocoon. I grabbed my bag with one hand, and grabbed Teresa’s hand with the other. As we began to race out the door the alarm’s in the whole building began to go off. Something had triggered them. I could hear William’s body plop onto the ground below his cocoon. We had made it out just in time. The only problem was making our way out of the building safely.

The lights began to shutter, and then shut off completely, as simultaneously the green emergency lights partially lit the hallways like traffic lights at night. Some of them were operational. The others, not so much. That made finding our way that much harder. I could actually see in the dark, hence the modifications to my vision Enan had made, but for some reason, it still showed up blurry, as if I were looking through a pair of night vision goggles with blotches of dirt smeared over the lens.

“Ulene! Ulene do you hear me? “I screamed out for her.

Yes, Doctor Newsome. What is wrong, sir?

“Do you know why all the power in the building has gone out? I need you to find us a path out of the building. I know right now we are on level 5.” I responded.

She did not respond. Teresa’s breathing had started to get heavier and heavier. Sweat began to drip from my forehead, bleeding its way on to what was left of my shirt from the accident. My lab coat was the only real piece of un tattered clothing I had left, although I had placed it around Teresa because of the cold temperatures in the hallways under the 7th floor. I could only imagine that the security in the building had panicked, knowing that they could not make any emergency phone calls to the outside, or make their way out the building. Finally, an answer was found.

It seems that a system override was done down in the lab on level 4 just 4 minutes ago. It was set 2 hours ago however. From what the MCP is telling me sir, the emergency lights will be set to go off in the next 5 minutes, leaving the building in total darkness. The security personal are struggling to find a way out as we speak.
