My destination should be coming up shortly
It seemed as if this woman grew lighter the further I walked towards the lab, which means I was getting stronger. It seems my body's reaction to Enan was starting to calm down.
I have arrived
It was after hours at the lab. I had to figure out how I was going to get inside without alarming the night guards. I had to think, and think fast. This woman's life depended on it. Ulene! That would have to be my last option. My only option. I walked onto the parking lot to a certain point. I knew that the security system detected any movement or life whether it be human or animal. It was whether it posed a threat or not to gain the undivided attention of the guards. I had to act fast. I placed the young woman's body down behind a pile of bushes out of sight. The risk of her blood getting on the grass was a risk I had to take. I figured the rain would wash away what blood that would not stick to the blades of grass holding her body up.
I kicked my feet back, getting ready to try something that I had never done before, but was willing to give it a shot, especially with the changes that my body had currently gone through. I got down on my hands and knees, and began to crawl my way across the parking lot. I began to pick up the pace, moving quickly but quietly, like an alley cat searching for its next meal. I reached the side door and was able to move close enough to even avoid the closed circuit camera's. Fortunately for me, I knew where every one of them was located. The door was locked of course, and it required for me to use my hand print and a retina scan for me to enter. I was able to put in a code that went past the normal security wall and straight to Ulene's data banks. I waited.
"Well, good evening Doctor Newsome. I did not expect to be interfacing with you at such a late hour. Is there something wrong, Sir?" she asked.
I was very much relieved to hear her voice.
"Yes, Ulene. I need you to get me into the lab on level 4. Doctor Clauson is still down there, but I can not be seen going in. For archive purposes. Is there any way where you can temporarily shut down or disable the security camera's and clearance for about 20 seconds?" I asked her.
"Very well, Sir. You are my original programmer. How could I possibly say no to you. Would you like me to disable the guards as well? she asked politely.
"No! Ha thank you Ulene, but that's a little more then what I need. What I asked for will be enough. I will wait for the latch to unloosen. That's when I know it will be time for me to go in. Commence the security wall take down in 30 seconds, and prolong it for 20 like I asked, please." I said to her quietly, trying not to allow my voice vibrations to be detected by the security system.
I quickly moved my way back over to the bleeding woman's body, the continuous rain pounding down on her already soggy and bruised skin. I was at the most 140 yards away from her, tops. When I finally reached her, I sat down beside her, keeping my senses clear for the sound of the lock unlatching.
CLICK!
Time to go
I was already on my way across the parking lot. I had approximately 20 seconds to get inside the building and to the service stairs, making my way safely down to level 4. I ran as fast as I could, still holding on to her body that had noticeably gotten heavier from soaking up the rain water.
15 Seconds
Ulene opened the door for me, as I was quickly approaching the door. Had I not had the Enan enhancements, I would be very afraid for my chances. My heart began beating faster and faster as the seconds in my head subtracted away quickly.
