Officer Darnell Jones walked into the lab, awaiting for the results for the substance the Fire Marshall's
had gathered a day ago at the decimated site of Vega Enterprises. He sat down in the chair heavily, feeling the effects from the days stresses. Still, the events of the day before had laid glued in his mind. It was clear in his mind that there was a conspiracy at hand. Doctor Evan Lewis had finished his analysis of the substance and placed the beakers into their respective slots, mixed up some materials in a pan, and gently placed some samples into a petri dish. He glanced into the microscope's eye, adjusting the vision so that he could gain a clearer look at what he was examining. With a deep sigh, he backed away from the microscope, removing his lab gloves and while writing down what he had observed, continued to breath heavily.
"This is unlike anything that I have ever seen, as cliche as it sounds" explained Doctor Lewis.
"What do you mean, Evan?" Officer Jones responded.
"Well, to be honest, the material is no where to be found on the periodic table of elements. It has some, other worldly texture to it." he replied.
Officer Jones stood up and walked over towards Doctor Lewis. He wanted to take a look for himself, just to see what exactly it was that they were dealing with. "Mind if I take a look, Doctor?" he asked.
"Be my guest, Darnell." he said. Officer Jones took a peek inside the eye of the microscope, and saw for himself what was plaguing Doctor Lewis' mind. In his 7 years of service in the force he had never seen anything of this nature.
"What does this tell you, Darnell?" he asked. "This had to be caused by something we are normally not use to. I'll take this downstairs and see if we can get any further info on this."
"Wait, I do know some one over at Hunter and Addison Inc. that might be able to help us out with this. An old friend actually. Mar'gio Addison. He never really served a purpose before but now I actually might utilize his help. Do you mind if-". He reached for the petri glass, signaling if he could take it along with him.
"Um, not a problem at all. I trust you Darnell. I'm sure you can get that back to me safely! Hopefully the scientist over at Hunter and Addison can figure out what ever it is that we are dealing with here." Officer Jones nodded in approval, and made his way out the door.
During the drive over to H&A Inc. he continuesly looked at the box that held the petri dish. The mystery inside was enough to drive him crazy. For some reason, he had to know what the substance was.
Pulling into H&A Inc., he quickly made his way into the front doors, knowing good and well that a last minute appointment with Mar'gio Addison was nearly impossible. Officer Jones moved quickly to the giant front desk sitting below the Hunter and Addison Insigna. The beautiful woman sitting behind the desk on the phone looked him down fiercely as he quickly approached her.
"May I help you?" she asked him concerning.
"Yes, I need to see Mr. Addison as soon as possible." he tried to get out. It was clear he was still physically and mentally whipped from the days work. "It's very urgent that I get this to him. Please."
"Okay, okay. I will see what I can do. Let me-" she was suddenly interrupted by a loud burst proceeded by an outcry. A woman had plunged her way through the front doors of Hunter and Addison Inc., tears black as night pouring down her cheeks. Security, who had seamlessly ignored Officer Jones, rushed over to her to help her off her hands and knees. Officer Jones ran over to her assistance, seeing that she had become weak from whatever it was that was grieving her.
