VOLUME TWO

Hope

June 14th, 2016

The Fire Marshall's scrambled their away around the wreckage, desperately attempting to find just a sign of life amongst the broken glass and other destruction. What ever explosion there was completely decimated Vega Enterprises. It seemed in the light of its demise, Hunter and Addison Incorporated were having a field day at it's expense, quickly making moves through stocks and shares and making phone calls to every dealer that was associated with Vega.

One of the fire marshalls bellowed out a cry of help. It appeared that he had made a discovery. Rushing over to his aid, two fire officers scraped and moved debris out of their way to get to the worried officer. Officer Darnell Jones, a very upstanding individual amongst his fellow fire fighters, was the first to arrive to the still troubled officer. Officer Jones noticed the frightened look on the troubled officers face, and began looking for what he could possibly be so alarmed by.

"Sir, some type of substance is sticking some of the debris together. It's..." He struggled to get the words out. " It's unlike any thing i've ever seen, Sir."

Officer Jones knelt down to take a closer look at the substance himself. It had been charred by the flames, but still had a gooey but also firm feel to it. Officer Jones had no clue what to think about the substance, and called over the second officer to grab a container and scoop up what he could for testing.

In the year 2016, not only were Fire Marshalls responsible for search and rescue, but they were the city's police officers, detectives, EMT's and security. The city of Di'tone had grown accustomed to these officers, although most had garnered the reputation of being corrupt. Slowly were the city's inhabitants losing their trust in the city's protection. With the destruction of Vega Ent, Hunter and Addison Inc. could finally take control of the city in a way that they had only dreamed of before, and they had one man to thank for its implosion.

"No bodies have been found Sir, well, at least none in tact. There is some evidence that someone has been ravaging through here before we arrived here, though" said one of the Fire Marshall's.

Officer Jones pulled out an instrument that scanned the surrounding area, picking up small traces of foot prints. He continued to follow them until they disappeared. He was taken back.

Where could the foot prints have possibly disappeared to?

"I'm going to need some additional scanning of this particular area, officer. See what you can come up with regarding these missing footprints. Something here is not right, " explained Officer Jones, worryingly.

In the distance someone was watching. Someone who was all too aware of the events that recently took place, and that will continue to fall into place with time. A grin planted itself across his face, and with a satisfactory aura, he turned to get into the limousine that chauffeured him there. The limo drove into the distance, away from the concerns and theories of those on the grounds below.

He wasn't the only person watching from the distance, however. Another man had his sights set on those below as well. Although he was not aware of what caused Vega Ent. destruction, he had plans of his own for what was to happen next.

"Asalan, Zayala, put the bodies inside the van. We need to get them both back to Kero. Maj, inform Fourpeed that we will be arriving back to Kero in 20 minutes. The man and woman are gravely injured, but I think we may have enough time, and a fighting chance to save her child."
