Chapter Thirty Four
SangI show my face once more downstairs, just so my Dad doesn't come up and check on me. I tell him that I'm going to go to sleep and will most likely stay in bed most of the morning tomorrow. I don't know of any plans for tomorrow with the guys, and I didn't want him to come up and check on me, only to find two boys in my room.
Dad had said that he needed to go out in the morning anyway. I didn't ask what for, I just said goodnight before going back upstairs. Before going into my room though, I went to the bathroom to change for bed. My sleep clothes from the night before hang on the back of the door, and I quickly change into the dark pink bottoms and white tank that says 'I love sleep' with pink love hearts on it.
Entering my room, I'm surprised to find Kota standing by the window. "Hey," I say, closing the door behind me. "What are you doing here?"
He holds up a paper bag. "From the Doc; pain relief and antibiotics." I take them from him with a smile and put them on my desk. "Take two of the pain pills every four hours, and the antibiotics three times a day, just one each time though."
"Thank you," I tell him.
"Where is everyone?" Corey asks, shutting down the screen to one of the laptops as I sink down into my desk chair. I pull a blanket off of my bed from under Raven's feet, and pull it up to my chin.
"Not at the Sargent Jasper," Kota answers. "It's not safe there right now. Axel and Marc are at Nathan's tonight, and Brandon is at Uncle's with North, Luke, Gabriel, and Silas."
"Do I get to stay with West?" Raven asks, a grin on his face as he does.
Kota shakes his head, an amused smile coming to his face. "No. You'll be at Nathan's too come tomorrow night."
"Damnit," Raven says like he's disappointed, but I can't see any disappointment on his face. There's a story there between him and North, and I want to know what it is, although I don't want to ask questions. I guess they'll tell me when they're ready.
"Anyway, I'm going to get going. Victor is waiting off to the side of the house."
"He is?" I ask Kota.
He nods. "He is." He heads for the window, and I get out of my chair. He climbs out onto the porch roof, and I watch as he jumps down, my upper half hanging out the window.
A shadow appears from the side, and Kota points up at my window. I wish I could see Victor's face, but it's too dark. He does, however, raise his hand in a wave. A second later, they're running across the street, much like Victor and Nathan did the night before.
I sigh and go back to my chair. Corey closes the window and then shuts of the light. Raven starts messing on his phone, the glow lighting up his face, and Corey goes back to working on the laptop that's still on.
I close my eyes, resting my head back and bringing my legs up to curl into myself in the chair.
I startle when I'm lifted up. "It's alright, you fell asleep so I'm just going to lay you on the bed," Corey says softly. He places me onto my bed but keeps me sitting up.
"Take these, Little Bird." Raven puts some pills in my hand, and I quickly pop them in my mouth, accepting the water he hands me. When I'm done, Corey lays me back and I roll onto my good shoulder, my back to the wall.
I vaguely realise that Raven is lying in front of me, but I can't bring myself to care as exhaustion takes me under and an arm wraps around me, bringing me into a wall of warmth.
xXx
My eyes fly open, something causing me to do so. "Her father just left," I hear Corey say. "No. I heard him tell her that he was going to be gone for the morning," Corey says before pausing to listen. "Alright, cya in a bit."
