Dalawang buwan matapos mag simula ang second year of my college life. Adrian did enrolled and he's been helping me all this time.
Umiling lamang ako at tinugonan s'ya ng ngiti at muling ibinalik ang aking tingin sa daang aming tinatahak.
"But you did improved."
My rehab, this school year, my schoolarship, the sport... and Drew.
It's been months nang huli ko s'yang makita. It's either Adrian or Trixie ang nandyan para tulungan ako sa recovery ko. He's back on basketball training sabi nga ni Trixie kaya she's feeling sorry kung bakit hindi na makakatulong ang kambal n'ya. "No worries. The truth is, I miss his presence. And we are not even friends. Tssk. Bakit nga kasi ako nag assume, he's just giving me a favor since I'm his twin's roommate.
At natawa na lamang ako thinking about that conversation.
"Pwedeng pumasok d'yan sa utak mo?"
I turned to Adrian and he had little smile on his face. "Hah?"
And then his expression suddenly shifted to somewhat serious.
"Sorry, ang dami ko lang kasing iniisip." Tugon ko at nagpatuloy sa paglakad. "Tomorrow is the try out, at alam mo naman diba ang sitwasyon ko ngayon?" natatawa kong tanong.
"Sira ulo!" and elbowed him.
And he just responded me with laughters. "You'll make it Kass, I know you can."and then he went serious. Muli ko s'yang tinitigan, he quite change a bit, pumuti ang kutis n'ya probably because of the weather overseas, mas tumangos ang ilong n'ya, grow up some muscles and mas naging masculine na nga ang tindig n'ya ngayon but despite all of that he remained the Adrian that I used to know. He still kept on believing in me. That no matter how wasted I am, he still believed.
"Na miss ko yan." Ngiti kong sabi sa kanya.
And it made his smile more widened. "Na miss mo ang pang uuto ko sa'yo?"
"Medyo.
He smilingly answered and suddenly went silent. "Magaling ka Kass, you just have to believe yourself." At kinindatan ako just like what he usually do.
"Hali na, yakap na." and I spread my arms, just like what I usually do sa tuwing nilalambing s'ya. He's still my bestfriend after all, the older brother I never had.
He just smiled, yung pati mga mata n'ya ay ngumingiti na rin. "Sorry but I didn't missed that." And walked away.
"Ang yabang nito!!!" at patakbo s'yang hinabol. Huminto s'ya nang maabutan ko s'ya, he still had that smirk on his face.
He move a step backward and then slowly spread his arms. "Hop in."
