The next morning Jade woke up to her alarm clock which she rarely set. She was always awake before work started so there was no need for this annoying sound in her ears.
Jade looked down at her phone and panic spread throughout her body, she had slept through the regular alarm and 3 other warning alarms.
"Holy Shit!" She rushed out of bed with only 10 minutes to shower and get ready. She rushed into the shower and used up 15 minutes of her time in there.
When she ran out of the bathroom there was a knock at the door giving her no time to get dressed.
She wrapped her towel around her body tightly and walked through the living room to the front door.
She looked through peephole but saw nothing but blackness so she put the chain on the door and pulled it open.
"You're late" when Jade heard G's voice she unlocked the door. When the door was opened a sleeping baby was placed in her arms and his bag was dropped on her messy bed.
"I was on my way"
He kept his eyes on his phone and mumbled something to himself.
"You should really stop lying. You were no where near ready which caused you to be late it's 9:30 now. I said be there at 9:00. I don't like when people are late because that causes me to be late and I don't like being late" He was being very serious at 9:30 on a Sunday morning. Dressed in all black with his dark hair slicked back.
"Can you atleast give me one smile? I made an attempt to be on time, I even set an alarm. So that should get me something" Jade rocked the baby in her hands and walked around the room.
"I'm not going to smile for you. What do you think this is? Now put him down, get dressed and come over here"
He sat down at her kitchen table waiting for her to get ready.
"Can you leave so I put clothes on?"
"If every other guy has seen it before why can't I" a deep scowl set on her face as she walked over to the door and opened it to be faced with a big, buff, heavily tattooed man.
"Get the fuck out" She pointed to the door and he smirked before throwing his hands up and waiting outside.
She threw on some underwear and pulled on sweats along with a regular white t-shirt.
She left the door open a little and walked out to the back with him.
"Tell me what he said to you the last time you two talked" She tapped her bare foot on the pavement with her chin in the palm of her hand.
He just stood there impatiently, "you know I never realized how dark your eyes are, it's like staring into your soul"
"Get to the point. I already told you I'm late"
She giggled and went on. "Okay I'm just saying. The devil has more personality then you. It's like talking to a brick wall"
He pushed her back against the wall and his nostrils glared in anger.
"Stop with the jokes and talk."
"I talked to him on the phone a month ago and he said something about not getting enough profit in the states. He's also in some kind of link with this other guy named Rashad"
He moved away from her and pointed to the car. The big guy walked over to it and got in the front seat.
"But you said the last you talked to him was almost a year ago"
She shrugged and reached for the door.
"Don't fucking lie to me again or you won't like the consequences. Take care of him and if anything happens to him I will deal with you personally. I'll be back soon." Before he left he pulled out a rolled up wad of money and held it out.
"I'll pay you again next week." He walked away without another word.
