***Still a flashback***

●Zinnia's POV●

"Uhh hi?" I waved at Mr.Anderson lamely trying to diffuse this awkward moment.

Talk about first impressions.

He chuckled. "Say, are you one of Zach's lady friends? If so, you must be really special because he doesn't bring them home at all. But then again, my wife would have used a broomstick to drag them out of the house kicking and screaming like banshee's if they turn up in an outfit that might as well have belonged to a toddler." He winced as though he reminisced a not so fond memory.

I snorted. I like Rhyane even more now. "Well sir, I was ditched by Zach who headed off to the kitchen for dinner. He is an idiot. And when I am annoyed, I use his surname, the way he does when he wants to annoy me." I grumbled and then realization hit me. I just called Zach an idiot in front of his father!

I groaned out loud. "This is getting embarrassing by the minute. I'm sorry for calling your son an idiot, sir. He is definitely not an idiot! But at least he is a good looking one ri---" Damn you brain! I just had to ramble now!

Mr.Anderson who was looking at me in amusement doubled over laughing hysterically. I looked at him cautiously.

"Sir, are you alright?" I approached him slowly and warily. I hope he hasn't gone mad yet. I still need to find Zach, kill him, bury him in the backyard, have dinner then go home. I'm a busy woman you know!

"Don't worry young lady. All that shall be done. I'll hold off going mad after you are done killing and burying my son. That sound good?" He tried to control his laughter and wipe the tears from the corner of his eyes.

Of course I said that out loud! Now I need to move to another country, change my identity to Annalise or Margaret and forget about my life here due to embarrassment.

*For those of you who are rolling your eyes, calling me over dramatic and asking me to shut up, calm the chocolate fudge (yumm!) down! I am over dramatic and you were aware of it. You chose to read my tale, so now bear with it. Capeesh!*

"Shall we?" He put his arm out to me. I smiled at him and linked my arm with his.

"Thank you, sir."

"No need for 'sir' young lady. Call me Jeremiah. And what's your name?" He inquired with a kind smile.

"Zinnia. Zinnia Celine Evans." I replied.

"Ah. That is a beautiful name. It suits you."

"Thank Jeremiah. I must say, your whole family has a set of unique names as well. Rhyane, Laraene, Zachary and Jeremiah. Zach's name may be common for some people but he is the first Zachary that I've known." It is true.

"Thank Zinnia. We try to be different." He winked at me.

I didn't even realize when we entered the kitchen. Zach and Rhyane were staring at us.

"I see you've found our guest, darling." Rhyane smile widened at the sight of our arms linked together. I blushed and let go of Jeremiah's arm. Rhyane gave a peck on her husband's lips and they looked at each other adoringly. I wish that someday a man would look at me the same way.

Little did I know that while I was busy looking at the cute couple in front of me, I didn't notice Zach giving me the exact same look of adoration.

That is until I looked at him and he immediately looked down. Huh. I must be imagining things.

----------------------------------------------------------------

After that, we all sat down and had dinner. It was steak, mashed potatoes, green beans and some other meat with vegetables.

We had apple pie for dessert and let me tell you, it was scrumptious. Despite having a chef, Rhyane decided to make the apple pie since I was joining them for dinner.

I was truly humbled by that.

Before I knew it, it was almost 9 and I had to get going as we had school the next day. Joy!

"I must be leaving now. Thank you so much for dinner and everything else." Jeremiah and Rhyane gave me tight hugs, making me promise to see them again.

I went towards Laraene and crouched down to hug her."I will come and see you soon Laraene. Take care little angel." She hugged me in return and gave me a peck on my cheeks. I kissed her forehead and ruffled her hair. She truly is adorable.

I stood up straight, gave them one last wave and headed towards the door. Zach followed after me.

"Goodnight love. Text me once you are home? I need to know you are home safe. Please?" He hugged me and kissed my temple.

I blushed and returned the hug, inhaling his scent. "I will sparkly. Don't worry." I winked at him and got in my car once we pulled apart from the hug. He nodded and watched me until I was out of his housing compound.

It didn't take me long to reach home. Or maybe I didn't even realize it.

'Yeah, probably because you were too busy replaying Zach's words like a broken tape recorder.'

What he said was sweet okay! Sue me!

'Sure, which court? Mentally traumatized court?! Because I feel that way now! Traumatized!'

Where is the 'turn off' button when you need one. Ugh.

Once the gates opened, I drove in and parked the car at it's rightful spot. Colton is way too lazy to park the car in the garage so he parks it at the driveway itself.

I got out of the car and walked in the house. Colton would be in his room doing God knows what. My parents would be in their room as well since the house seems relatively quiet.

I bounded up the stairs to my room to retire for the night after showering of course. I texted Zach that I was home as promised before falling asleep.

Today was a good day. I smiled at the memory.
