. . .

THE WEEKEND passed by much too quickly for my liking after the little incident, and to say that I'm a bit disappointed that the days didn't last longer might be an understatement.

It's Monday, and I start work this afternoon. I am currently walking to school by myself, though, because Mingyu has to run some errands back at the 'headquarters'. Honestly, it still feels rather odd to use these terms, but I guess I'll get used to it sooner or later.

I was thankful when things were nowhere near awkward during the past two days. It was as if nothing had happened, and though I feel the need to bring it up somehow, I suppose I'd prefer things to go this way than have the two of us be awkward with each other.

Upon arriving at the school gates, I am immediately approached by a familiarly tall figure. Their shadow casts over me and blocks my view, making me look up to see their sharp eyes and monotone espression.

"Hey," Wonwoo nods at me snapping me out of my thoughts. He doesn't give me so much as a smile, but I know that he's not being unfriendly—it's just his face.

"Hi," I greet, giving him a small little smile. "What's up?"

"Uhm," He starts and looks around as if making sure that no one is watching us. "walk with me?"

"Sure."

We walk a couple of steps inside with me waiting for him to speak. It's a little odd for Wonwoo to suddenly be looking for me after all this time, so I figured that either I've got something he needs or he's really just being sincere.

"So uh... Mingyu told me that he can't be here today." Wonwoo says, looking straight at the path leading towards the school building instead of me.

"Yeah, apparently he has to run some errands at the headquarters." I nod, confirming his statement. "Why?"

"He, uh... He kind of told me to look over you while he's not here." He explains, trying a tight-lipped smile and shrugging. "Actually, he told like every agent in this school—threatened, even." Wonwoo chuckles, the deepness of his voice sounding rather pleasant in my ears.

"Aigoo," I mutter, pinching my nose bridge at Mingyu's silly doings. "Is he usually this overprotective?"

"Not really," The raven-haired boy says, placing both hands behind his head casually. "Honestly, I was kind of surprised when Mingyu called me this morning. He's usually very laid-back and doesn't really care about much."

I look down, suddenly remembering the kiss and how affectionate he had been to me these couple of days. I don't even answer him, afraid that I would let out a word vomit of sorts.

"So..." I begin after I've calmed myself down, earning me his attention immediately. "Where's your AC?"

"Ah," He says, looking around once again. "She's here somewhere, probably talking with her friends before class starts as usual."

"What is she like?"

"Well, people might find her a little intimidating at first due to her sharp eyes and cold demeanor." Wonwoo speaks, smiling to himself. "But once you get to know her, she's actually really shy and is quite a softie. A bit dark, too, but has a pretty unique outlook on things."

"She sounds almost exactly like you." I comment, looking up at his facial features.

"True. But you know what they say; opposites attract, but like-minded lasts. Just look at you and Mingyu."

"Wh... What do you mean by that?" I ask, all of a sudden feeling flustered.

"I mean, you two share a couple of things." He shrugs, "For one, you're both pretty hardworking. You're caring and enjoy seeing others happy, too." Wonwoo says, then briefly stops himself to think. "You know what else you share?"

"What?"

"Your bed." He finishes, giving me a satisfied smirk.

"WONWOO!" I practically shout at him, slapping his arm as I feel heat rush up to my cheeks. The boy simply crinkles his nose, head tilted back in laughter as he does so. I scowl at him until we reach my first class, Biology, whereupon he regains his composure and gives me a kind smile.

"Well, here you are. Sorry I gotta leave you now, I have Literature for first period." Wonwoo apologizes, awkwardly rubbing the back of his neck.

"It's fine," I wave him off, giving him a reassuring smile back. "thanks for walking me here, Wonwoo."

"No worries," He replies, shrugging. "Besides, Mingyu will have my head if I don't anyway."

The two of us share one more laugh together before he leaves for his own class. I go to sit in my own spot, a little surprised to see Minghao already in his seat texting.

"Hi there," I chirp, earning the noodle-haired boy's attention. "You're pretty early."

"Yeah," He nods, locking his phone and putting it away. "Oh, hey—Mingyu said—"

I cut him off with a sigh, already knowing what he's going to say next.

"I know, I know. Running errands back at the headquarters and now here you are having to watch over me."

Minghao chuckles, his voice sounding awfully adorable for a boy.

"It's alright, I don't mind. I'm just a little surprised that he chose to tell you about us."

I hum in response and grab my Biology book from my bag. "Do you?"

"Uh-huh," He nods again, his fluffy hair bouncing as he does so. "I'd feel bad if I have to lie to my ACs."

"I see," I say, quietly agreeing to his way of thinking. The conversation kind of dies down then, and as if on cue, our teacher comes in the room and class begins.

A COUPLE of hours later, school has finally ended. Wonwoo, Vernon and Minghao had took turns following me around school the whole day, and right now, as I am walking back home to change before heading to work, is the only time I finally get to be alone.

I decide to pick up some groceries first, so instead of going about my usual route, I stop by a nearby convenient store to buy the things I wanted. I figured that since Mingyu's been busy the whole day, I should probably cook some late dinner when I get home from work because he'd probably be worn out and tired from his trip.

I quickly grab the things I need and leave before even using up so much as fifteen minutes. Strolling out with groceries in hand, I take a turn into an alleyway thinking that it would take me home faster instead. After all, I wouldn't want to be late for my first day at work.

Upon entering it, however, I regret it instantly the moment my eyes land on a group of thugs chattering and smoking a joint. I quietly back up, trying to get by unnoticed, but I had to trip on a cat's tail and the animal screeched in respond. The group of men stopped talking altogether, and their heads turn towards me in a menacing manner.

"My, my. What do we have here?"
