. . .I DON'T KNOW just how exactly Mingyu managed to find out where one of my favorite places in Korea is, but he did, and a tiny part of me can't help but get giddy at the thought that he actually knows me pretty well already, even if it's just a huge coincidence.
"Come on," He urges, tugging at my hand and smiling so that his canines are on full display.
I walk with him to the ticket booth, eyes still wandering around the place I've gotten incredibly familiar with. "How'd you know that I like these kinds of places?"
"I told you, I have my ways."
"Good evening, how many tickets?" The lady behind the booth asks, smiling politely at the two of us.
"Two adults, please." Mingyu replies, smiling back at her.
She nods, typing in a couple of things in her computer before printing two tickets for the two of us. She hands them to Mingyu, her smile never faltering as he thanks her and leads me in the carnival once more.
"Well that's a first," I quietly mumble, hoping that the tall boy hadn't actually heard me.
But of course he did.
"What's a first?"
"You know... A girl not swooning over you."
"Aww, look at you." Mingyu cooes, lightly pinching my cheeks as he scrunches up his nose. "You're so cute when you're jealous."
"I'm not jealous!" I retort, face beet-red due to the fact that no one's really called me cute before. "I'm just stating facts."
"Sure you are."
I open my mouth to argue some more, but Mingyu cuts me off by asking me what game I want to play first.
"You pick. I'll go with whatever you choose." I answer him, shrugging a shoulder nonchalantly.
"But it's your birthday."
"It's fine, just take your pick." I say, waving him off and looking around the place for any interesting game booths.
"Okay, well..." He mutters, eyes darting around as well. "Oh! I know." Mingyu grins, pulling at my hand eagerly. I struggle to keep up with his strides, and have to walk twice as fast due to his long legs.
"Basketball?" I ask, eyeing the game set up under one of the tents. "I didn't know that you play."
"I used to." Mingyu answers a little distractedly as he hands the guy in charge some money. "It's been years, but I figured, why not test out my skills?"
"Whatever you say, Gyu."
He lets go of my hand then, to which I involuntarily frown in response. I step back while he does the opposite, hand reaching out into a nearby basket to grab a basketball. Mingyu plants his feet a little wider apart on the ground and squats slightly, arms positioned and ready to shoot.
"Crystal," He says, eyes still on the hoop.
"Hmm?"
