Chapter Seventeen: Goel Finds Out

Mercy's POV

Tonight after presentation night I'm gonna tell everyone in my family about the pregnancy I told myself, and with the pregnancy I might have to talk about the raping.

"Mercy are you sure you're okay?" Bray asked as she ran in. I flushed the toilet and wiped my mouth.

"Yeah, the nerves are definitely on the pregnancy's side when it comes to making my life hell." I washed my hands and dried them before grabbing some gum out of my pocket.

"Are you sure you want to do it tonight? I have a feeling that something bad is going to happen tonight" She bit her lips nervously.

"I want to tell you something... it's been upsetting my mind, I had forgotten something that day I told you I was pregnant."

"Okay what was it?"

"I have a Daughter out there, she would be... oh gosh she's almost 4."

"Okay do I get to meet her or was she adopted out?"

"She was adopted but her new parents were kind and sent me a picture on her birthday. That was our secret though. Nobody but the parents and I knew about it." I told her looking through my phone and showing her the latest picture.

"She's a cutie" she smiled at me.

"Yeah the parents love unique names and let me help them find a name for her. The name we chose was Cadence and nicknamed it with Caddy" I smiled at the little girl on my phone, a tear slipping down my face. Suddenly the door opened behind me.

"Who's the little girl?" Sable asked watching me carefully. She had come in and snuck up behind me.

"No one" I sniffed as I shoved the phone in my pocket.

"Okay, it doesn't matter" She walked into a stall.

"Let's get to lunch shall we?" Bray asked.

"Yes I believe we shall" I giggled and she grabbed my hand and we walked out.

Sable's POV

Why does Mercy have a picture of Caddy on her phone? How does she know Caddy? A lot of questions formed over the little girl who lived three houses down. The one I babysat for a little while last year.

"Hey Sable, what's wrong?" Bree said waving her hand in front of my face as I slowly washed my hands.

"I was just deep in thought that's all" I dried my hands.

"Okay then, I'll see you at lunch?" she asked.

"Uh yeah see you soon" I walked out and was greeted by Goel.

"Bring me the Horizon is playing here tomorrow night, this is so exciting." He said for the fourth time today.

"Yeah I know you're excited, the whole school knows how excited you are" I told him. He has not stopped talking about it for the last couple of weeks.

"Sorry, um... what's new with Mercy?" he asked, trying to find a topic to talk about.

"She's started to grow distant again, but do you know what's weird?"

"What?"

"Do you remember the little girl who I babysat and she would play with Hanni sometimes?"

"Yeah.... Caddy?" he asked.

"There was a picture of her on Mercy's phone, she was showing it to Bray" I explained.

"Did you ask her about it?"
