Why Does it Rain?
Emmy sat in silence, her eyes set in a stare as she looked out the kitchen window.
"Papa?" she called while she watched, transfixed, as rain danced down the window and rolled onto the ground, forming puddles.
"Why does it rain?"
"Well," Papa started.
He stroked his graying beard in thought.
"I suppose the earth is cleansing itself."
Emmy nodded, just as lightning illuminated the dark sky.
It reminded her of a giant camera flash.
Giant hands clapped, emitting thunder.
Boom, boom.
"Papa?"
"Yes Emmy?"
"I think it rains because God is washing away all our hardships and sins. "
