*3 months later*

Luke's POV:

The cries of my baby filled the air softening the tenseness and calming us all from the rollercoaster of emotions that had brought us to this situation.

The nurse wiped him off and slowly placed my newborn into my rather shaky arms. I easily noticed that his eyes were so pure and sweet, they were a darker shade of blue. He had little to no hair on his head. It was more of a slicked back light brown/gold patch of peach fuzz.

He cooed at me and stirred until he'd finally reached a comfortable position where he could drift back off to a deep slumber. A tear rolled down my cheek because I had just witnessed what would change both mine and Carol's lives forever.

"Lemme see my baby boy." Carol whispered out.

I slowly shuffled my way over to her and carefully transitioned the baby from me to her. I kneeled down beside the hospital bed as we both admired our creation that took months in the making. She rubbed his chubby cheek before planting a soft kiss on it.

"We need to go get his weight and measurements then we can bring him back so y'all can love on this little bundle of joy." The nurse spoke out at scooped the baby out of Carol's arms.

"While I do this fill out the birth certificate forms for us please and thank you." She said wheeling away our new found happiness. I haven't quite told y'all how I got to this situation yet. Let me run through everything.

*flashback to the early morning*

"Luke, baby. Wake up."

"What's the matter?" I questioned Carol as I shot up from my pillow.

"It's time." She replied brushing back her hair.

"It's 5 already?" I asked out of frustration, hiding the fact I was most likely more excited than she was.

"Yup, let's go have us a baby!" She smiled at me and kissed my lips before leaving the bedroom.

We had to have her induced sometime close to her due date. We did it so I wouldn't miss the most important day of our lives doing meetings or something. Today was the day, June 7th.

I loaded up the truck with the car seat, diaper bag, and the over night hospital bag. Carol was sitting in the car already turning up the radio, I got in, buckled myself then grabbed her hand and looked over at her.

"You ready for this?" I grinned.

"More than I'll ever be." She said leaning over and kissing me.

We checked in, got ourselves set up. Before I knew it Carol was going into labor. The anticipation for his arrival was building up. Hours turned into minutes, then finally minutes into seconds.

I stood by her side and coached her through the whole process. It was stressful but in the end it was all worth it. Her nails dug into the back of my hand, her screams made me have pain for her. Then the cries of him... they made it all better.

*end of flashback*

"7lbs 18 oz and 22inches." The nurse said bringing back the birth certificate that had the name Thomas Boyer Bryan boldly printed on the top.

"Here's baby Thomas, congratulations." The second nurse said handing over our little swaddled up baby boy. He now had a blue cap covering her nearly bald head but was still sound asleep.

It was already 11:30 at night. Carol had given birth at around 10:30. It took a lot for us to get him out but I'm glad he's here already.

I couldn't help but just stare at him in amazement. He's little and stuff. I haven't seen babies when they're this young, Jor, Kris, and Til were around 2 months when I'd first held them all.

"Luke." Carol said breaking my train of thought.

"I'm going to bed, today took a lot out of me." She said holding Thomas out.

"I'll got him, we need another name." I said cradling him.

"What do you mean? Thomas is perfectly fine." She said concerned.

"No it is, I just mean like a nickname. Thomas is bland. Daddy has his nickname which is Tommy. I got mine Luke. What about him?"

"I don't know. Bubba? Buddy?" She asked rolling over.

"No, too common. What about Bo?" I asked.

"Like a huntin' bow?" She furrowed her eyebrows.

"No short for Boyer. B O." I replied looking down at him. "It looks like it fits to me."

"I like it too, it suits him well." She said closing her eyes.

"Bo, okay. Goodnight baby, I love you." I said leaning over and kissing Carol goodnight.

"Goodnight I love y'all both too." She kissed Bo's forehead.

I laid Bo down in his hospital crib and went to change out to pajamas. When I came back I made a little bed out of the hospital chair and went to go get Bo again since I can't get enough of him. I softly laid him on my chest and covered us both with the blanket.

My eyes began to get heavy and before I knew it, I'd fallen asleep to the sound of his small soft snores. Only to be waken up into the middle of this night by his horrid screams indicating that he was hungry.

Carol breastfed him and went right back to sleep I burped him and we laid back in the same position as before. Then the second we were both out again.
