Luke's POV:
I've back to the normal road life again for about 3 months. You'd think there'd be back to back parties every night but you're wrong. I'm constantly fighting to stay awake after each show, the only thing that's keeping me up after the concerts is calling Bo and Carol.
I sit up in my bed every night and listen to how their days went. Carol's been on it for planning the wedding, she already has her dress picked out along with my tux, flowers, location, all we need it seating arrangements, dates and food. So far Bo's learned how to roll over and sit up on his own. He's my adorable bundle of joy that I miss lots. Carol text me pics of him all day, everyday and I don't mind one bit.
His favorite thing is when I sing to him before bed. Carol jokes on how he patiently waits to hear the guitar strum and my voice come through the phone. I can hear his little giggle echo as soon I start singing Roller Coaster, it's his favorite song.
I have about 4 more months left till the tour is over. Believe it or not life is going by pretty fast, I've already started working on a new album. Of course it's still in its early stages but it's going somewhere. We've got two songs prepared and ready for recording, the others are still in the works.
Apart from all that, we're playing Charlotte, NC in about 5 minutes. I did my m&g's along with my v.i.p. already. I wouldn't say I'm drunk but, I wouldn't lie and say I'm not at least buzzin' a bit.
I took a swig of my miller and called everyone over towards me. "Y'all gather around real quick." Soon we were all standing in a circle around me.
"I'm gonna quickly thank God for making our lives this amazing and for getting me this far in life. I'm pumped to be playing here tonight and I know y'all are too. With that being said let's get this night going! NC on 3!" I shouted with my hand balled up in a fist.
"One! Two! Three! NC!" We cheered in unison raising our hands up into the air. "Let's go Luke!" Nilla shouted over the crowd pointing towards the under stage entrance.
Soon I was on stage feeling the rush of the fans. People were smiling, dancing, and singing along. After I'd finished singing That's My Kinda Night, I decided I needed another beer to get me going once again.
Monaco pulled a beer from the cooler and tossed it towards me. I caught it and took a nice long chug before tossing it in the crowd and going back to singing, this time I was covering Can't Hold Us by Macklemore with Cole Swindell.
The only way I could describe it was fast. Really that's how it all went. I was on the second verse of the song, standing at the edge front of the stage. I didn't realize I was so close to the end of the stage.
I attempted to stomp my right foot down, instead of just my foot hitting the ground my whole body did. My body flew down and hit my head directly on the security gate. Luckily I didn't fall into the crowd and harm anyone beside myself.
I landed on the other side of the gate and lied there for about 5 secs trying to realize how stupid I must've looked in front thousands of people. I immediately felt pain in my right leg and the left temple of my head.
Nilla, Monaco, Cole , and some security guard quickly rushed over toward me and picked me up. "You alright?" Nilla asked patting my back.
"Yep. All good." I fake smiled. Nilla frowned and pulled me back on stage. I felt something wet start running down my leg and into my boot.
I touched the side of my head and felt a big ole goose egg forming. I sat and continued singing the song and threw my hand in the air before falling over and laughing.
I sat back up and looked blankly into the crowd before chuckling. "So check this out."
"The last time I was in North Carolina I busted my ass on stage. What is it about North Carolina that makes me bust my ass huh? Please YouTube that shit, alright, right now." I smiled, shaking my head before getting up and starting to sing Crash My Party.
---
When I got off stage Kerri rushed over towards me laughing. "You good?"
"I don't know my leg is hurting." I frowned.
"Hey, can we get the first aid box ready on Luke's bus Mike?" She said into her walkie talkie.
"Which one?" Nilla replied back.
"Doesn't matter which Mike, just have it ready."
"Will do." He replied.
After a short golf cart ride later, we were back at the bus. Sure enough the first aid kit was there and so was everybody else to see how hard I'd really fallen.
"Everyone off the bus please." I smiled.
"Why?" Cole asked.
"Because the injury requires me to remove my pants and reveal my luscious thighs." I winked.
"Shut up." He laughed, "Why don't you just put on these." He handed me my UA basketball shorts.
"Because, I can't take these off by just peeling them like I'd normally do I think I need to cut them off. Then I'll put those on so y'all can come back and check out my battle wounds." I replied in all seriousness.
"Alright c'mon everyone let's give princess Luke some privacy." Cole hurried everyone except Nilla off the bus.
"Do you really need to cut these off?" He pointed towards my pants.
"Yep."
He helped pull off my boots as I ripped off my belt, he grabbed some scissors from the medical kit and began cutting away. Soon my blood soaked pants were all shredded up.
"Damn." I said as my eyes got big.
I had a deep gash the size of a quarter that was gushing out blood. There were about 4 scratches and another deep cut that had stopped bleeding on its own.
"Yeah– you're gonna need some stitches." He furrowed his eyebrows, examining my legs.
"Kerri were gonna need the medic." Nilla spoke into the w.t.
"I'll go catch him before he leaves and send him in." Nilla helped clean up the wounds before an older man came through the bus door. He looked at my legs and quietly pulled out a needle and thread.
"Do you want a numbing shot or do you just wanna take it like man?" He asked.
"I'll take it like a man." I replied sitting back.
"It'll only be like 6 stitches per gash."
"Actually I'll take the numbing shot instead." I sat back up.
"Alrighty." He pulled out a giant needle and filled it with numbing fluid before he began stitching away.
I thanked him before putting my shirts back on and taking a pic of my legs. I first sent it to Carol before tweeting out the pic.
"Just a few bumps and bruises nothing to be too worried about. All good." I tweeted out. Immediately after I got a call from Carol.
"You alright? Your hairy legs look beat up pretty bad."
"Yep, I'll be fine thanks for checking on me." I replied.
"Alright get some sleep, I love you I'll talk to you in the morning." She told me.
"I love you too baby, night." I hung up the phone and walked outside to show off my legs.
Cole whistled, and everyone else was in a bit of shock I got stitches. I chuckled and said goodnight before heading off to the bunk and killing the lights for bed.
