All my Ash and Sage lovers should really like this chapter :D I tried making it as long as possible, to make up for my really slow updates recently! I hope you all enjoy it :D

Also, I have a question for you guys. I've recently started on a new story, nothing too serious with it really, but I was wondering if any of you would read it if I were to actually revise it and publish it? It's a bit different from my usual writing and it doesn't relate to slender man at all, as sad as that is because I really do enjoy writing these stories. It has more of a serious note to it and is a pretty sad and realastic romantic/drama thing. I was just curious if that would be something anyone would be interested in, so let me know! :D Thanks, everyone!

--CHAPTER THIRTY-FOUR--

The note left Sage shaken. What could Ellie’s bargain be? What did she want from Sage? She had nothing left to give that monster. She’d already taken everything from her.

Unfortunately, she didn’t have much time to think it over. Ash and the others came home shortly after the young girl had left. They found her standing in the living room with a look on her face she felt they would see as confusion mixed with hope and remorse.

“Sage?” Ash asked, running to her side. “Are you all right?” Concern was written all over his face. After almost losing her, he had become less guarded. His expressions were more readable and he never once left room for her to doubt his feelings towards her.

“Yeah,” she responded, trying her best to muster a smile as she crumpled up the little letter and tucked it into her back pocket, hoping to keep it hidden from him.

“How’d everything go today?” she asked, addressing the whole group, trying to ignore the unconvinced face Ash was making.

“Same as the other days,” Jonathan said with a defeated sigh. They’d been making no progress on finding Ellie, and it was taking its toll on the Hunter’s. They wanted to save Sage and they wanted protect the world from evil. So far they hadn’t been able to do either. And they’d allied themselves with another force of evil to try and do it. They weren’t the happiest.

“I think we’re all going to go get some sleep now,” Jonathon told her, looking around at the droopy-eyed group. They all nodded in agreement. “Have a nice evening, Sage. Ash.”

I gave a small smile and nodded a thank you towards him. He really was a nice man. Kind of like a grandfatherly figure, even though he wasn’t quite old enough to be a grandfather. His years of fighting and experience with death had aged him beyond his years.

“Should we go to your room?” Ash asked in a low voice after they had all left.

Sage knew that were what was probably best, but some how she felt herself shaking her head. “No. Let’s go out.”

Ash raised one dark eyebrow at her. “Is that really a good idea?”

She shrugged her shoulders. “Who cares?”

She knew Ash could tell something was up with her. He could sense something different.

“As you wish,” he said, taking her hand and leading her out the door. “Where do you want to go?”

Sage thought about it. They weren’t far from where she grew up, where she’d lived her whole life. An excited smile spread across her face, tinged with hints of sadness.

“Follow me,” she said in a mischievous voice, the voice that had first sparked interest in Ash. He had no choice but to trail after her, clutching onto her small hand.

With her new heightened speed, it didn’t take long at all to reach the spot she wanted to go. Regularly it should have been at least a half hour walk, but they were there with in ten minutes.
