Timothy sighed as he unlocked the door and got in, the house was eerily quiet, he turned the lights on and threw his keys on the counter.
Lizzy was probably out with friends or something of the sort. It was the late noon and he just got back from the hotel, after he and Archibald talked they had lunch and then he left.
He was surprised that he could hold any sort of normal conversation with that man seeing the circumstances, but somehow it was surprisingly natural for them to engage in matters that concerned them both such as their orientation as well as other trivial matters and he had to admit to himself he quite enjoyed that.
He felt free of any judgment, he didn't have to hold back or pretend to be someone he wasn't, for the first time in a very long time Timothy was truly and utterly himself.
Archibald, although irritating with his occasional inappropriate input and teasing, let Timothy the stage to express things he held inside for too long and it felt like a stone has been lifted off of his chest.
Timothy envied him, he saw in him the life he could've had if his parents were more tolerating and accepting. He couldn't help but wonder how his life would have looked like if he was accepted, loved unconditionally for who he was.
Could he have a stable relationship with a man like he always wanted? Could he be open about who he was to others without giving a care about what they thought?
Could he accept himself without questioning and criticizing every step he took in those supposedly ideal life? without feeling shackled and bound to his parents expectations?
Or was it too much to ask for?
Was he even worthy of that?
He was afraid he couldn't answer that, he didn't want to think about it.

Timothy sighed and went upstairs, he took off his clothes and went in the shower, massaging his sour and aching body under the stream of comforting warm water.
When he was out, he put on sweatpants and went to sleep. He woke up later in the evening, feeling more refreshed and energized, Lizzy has yet to return and he was worried so he called her but her phone was turned off.
He decided to try and make dinner, he wasn't much of an expert in the kitchen but he could do decent enough to provide human edible food. He checked the cupboards and the fridge, deciding to make pasta, he took all the needed ingredients and got to work.
It was somehow relaxing, he didn't eat much at home and if he did it was an outside food, he ordered a lot.
Lizzy liked to sit in fancy restaurants, with or without him, he preferred to go out with her because he felt it was his obligation as a husband not to neglect his wife and provide her company.
He finished making the pasta just as the door opened and in stepped his wife, she was smiling, her hair and clothes disheveled as she made her way to him.
"Timmy, it smells wonderful, is that pasta?" she pecked him and he frowned at the bitter taste of alcohol.
"Uh yes, I decided to make dinner for us. Are you alright Lizzy? you're a bit flushed " . She waved her hand dismissively, holding an envelope as she shook her head "I'm fine sweetie, been out with friends. Look what I've got here in my hand!" she grinned excitedly and handed him the envelope, he read it carefully.
"It's an invitation to Carmichael's anniversary party! isn't it exciting? " she clapped her hands enthusiastically.
"I guess so..." Timothy shrugged, he didn't care much for such things, not like Lizzy, to him it was part of the job and nothing more.
"I can't wait to tell my friends, Jenny would get so jealous . She always flaunts all the parties she and her boyfriend are invited to..." she mumbled to herself, making her way to the stairs.
"Lizzy, dinner! " Timothy called after her. "I already ate outside !" she yelled as she climbed up, dialing the first of her friends. He shrugged and took some pasta for himself, appreciating the taste of home cooked fresh food. He cleaned his dishes and sat in front of the TV, settling for an action movie. He jumped as his phone vibrated, he unlocked it to read the new message he got.
You forgot your tie here
Timothy silently cursed, it was one of his favorite ties. Another message followed.
You can come get it this Friday, same hour as last time ;)
He couldn't be serious, Friday was in two days and while it was the weekend, Timothy didn't want to be out of commission again so soon. Archibald was a wild insatiable animal in bed and if Timothy wanted to keep himself safe from his hunger he had to put boundaries .
But easier said than done, what could he do? force Archibald to go easy on him ? he could see this plan going down the drain.
The first time they had sex the affects on his body weren't as severe as last night because Archibald probably held back or maybe it was Timothy who held back?
Either way he knew he had to adapt quickly to this so his body would be able to function normally.
You can keep it
He texted back and soon a message followed, he didn't need to read it to know what it said.
My fun, my rules, remember?
Timothy sighed and threw his phone aside, concentrating back on the TV, even without replying he knew Archibald was well aware he'd follow his instructions.
He wondered for how long this would go on, he could tell Archibald was the kind of man to play with a toy until he got bored only to toss it aside and replace it with another toy. Timothy took a bet it wouldn't take more than two months until Archibald would get enough and leave him be so all he had to do was endure- he wasn't suffering but even he had his limits when it came to pleasure.

"Good morning boss! Are you feeling better? "
Alicia greeted him as he entered.
" It's Timothy and yes I am, thank you for asking. Everyone managed okay? " he asked and offered her pastries he picked on his way, she grinned and took one.
"Yep".
"Did you send today's schedule? " he asked and she hesitated.
"Um, your father said he wants you to go see him first thing when you arrive". she shifted uncomfortably under his gaze. "Is everything alright? " he frowned in concern.
"It has to do with the Carmichael case " she let on, only making him more suspicious.
He nodded and placed the box of pastries in her hands. " give it to the rest, I'm going up".
He went up the elevator to his father's office.
"Son!", his father got up from his chair as soon as Timothy entered and went to greet him with a short hug- his spirit was surely up , hugs were a rare thing .
"Everything's alright dad? you seem to be in a really good mood" Timothy commented as they sat down.
"It's just that your mom and I are making so many plans, I never thought retirement could be such a good thing. I'm going to take her to Italy like she's always wanted and then we're going to Asia! You know I've always wanted to travel there, to see the different cultures and their costumes. I'll even bring you souvenirs and --"
"Dad! dad!"
Timothy stopped his rambling, a bit of a smile to his lips, it was something to see him so excited and energized like that, full of youth.
"But what did the doc say? are you good to go? "
His father grinned ," More than good to go! He said that as long as I won't overdo it I'm gonna be just fine and your mother said she'd make sure to take good care of me. I swear to god I don't know where I would have been without that woman. " he said the last words fondly, his face showed the affection and love he held for her. Even after all those years they loved each other so much and Timothy had to admit it was a beautiful thing. He wanted that too.
"That's good to hear. So I assume you called me up here regarding your retirement. " he sighed deeply. His father ran this place firmly for years, he was irreplaceable and now he wanted his son to take after him but Timothy wasn't as much in for it as he should. Those were pretty big shoes to fill and he wasn't sure he could fit them. Sure he had the experience but he was still relatively young and the responsibility was great to handle.
What if he messed up? surely  he was good as a lawyer but management was a whole different thing. It was more about appearances, heavy impact decisions, overview and estimation of the whole  firm.
He'd have to emerge himself more in social circles and less in cases,  of course he'd  still have  to contribute his input and review propositions and also have a say in the budget and economic side of the firm and--
"Timothy!"
Timothy was startled from the storm of thoughts that swirled in his mind by the booming voice of his father that actually  called him by his name and not some hateful nickname.
"You're over thinking it. I know you and what you're  capable of and that's why I'm not concerned leaving the firm in your hands. You know, when your grandfather passed away and I had to step in and take over  in his place I had exactly the same thoughts you're probably having now. Will I fit in alright?  Can I do this?
It's only natural to have doubts but don't lose it, you're  not alone in this. I'm always available on the phone and of course you have your trusty  coworkers- those who have  been here for years and know how to run this place.  My secretary knows literally everything,  she will help you as well. Have faith,  after all you're my son and the Jacobs known as badass. " he chuckled . Timothy just  stared at him for a while, taking in the words of encouragement,  his anxiety  reduced considerably.
His father was right,  he wasn't alone,  he had people he could rely on and it'd be a bit hard in the beginning but he'd manage.
"Please don't  ever use badass again. " Timothy shook his head  with a smile.  He sure as hell was capable and he'd own it.
"Also,  Alicia said you wanted to tell me something  regarding the Carmichael case." he said expectantly. "Oh yeah, good you reminded me. From now on aside for you being  the new head of the firm you're going to be the sole lawyer  representing Carmichael. "
Timothy gaped "W-what? "
He thought  he was over with it, he thought he just had to close the deal and it'd  be handed to someone else.
"It was a personal request from Carmichael himself, he also asked that he'd  be personally updated on anything regarding his businesses rather than filing it up to his lawyers."
Timothy couldn't help  but roll his eyes. Of course  he wasn't through with Carmichael,  he never would  be. That bastard was like a leech.
"Is that all?" he sighed and got up as his father nodded,  making  his way out of the office.  He faintly heard ' good luck ' as he closed the door behind him.
