Mitch's POV
5 years old
"Mitch, sweetheart, its bedtime," mummy cooed for the third time.

"Why," I whined. I hate bedtimes, especially when there is a monster under my bed.

"Come on, mummy will tuck you in," my daddy smiled as he ruffled my hair. I pouted, but still followed mummy. She kissed me on the cheek and pulled the blankets over on me.

"Can you tell me a bedtime story?" I asked, begging for mummy's bedtime story. It was the best, with knights in shining armour saving the girl! I hope I will be the knight and save my girl when I grow up.

"Ok," she sat on my bed, and started her story.

"Once upon a time, there were three bears, the papa bear, the momma bear, and the baby bear. One day, the bears decided to go for a walk before their dinner. When they were out, there was a girl named Goldilocks, who got lost and came to their house. She knocked on the door. Once, twice, no one was in the house.

She opened the door, and saw that there was three bowl of  porridge. She was hungry, so she tried the big bowl. 'Ouch!' She said, 'it is too spicy!' and she tried the medium bowl. 'Ah!' She said, 'it is too hot!' and she tried the small bowl. 'Just nice,' and she ate all of it.

She was tired, so she went to the bedroom. There were three beds, the big one, the medium one, and the small one. 'Ugh!' she said as she tried the big one, 'it is too hard!' and went to try the medium one. 'Oof!' She said, 'it is too soft!' and tried the small on. 'Ah, just nice,' and she slept.

As she woke up, she was shocked by the three bears in front of her. 'Momma, she ate my porridge, and slept on my bed!' The small bear complained. Goldilocks was scared, so she ran out of the house. After that, the three bears never saw Goldilocks again, and they lived happily ever after. The end." Mummy told the story. I yawned as my eyes closed.

"Goodnight Mitchy," she smiled as she gave me my favourite soft toy. A blue axe I named Betty.

"Goodnight mummy," I turned, and slept.

***

I woke up in the middle of the night. I don't like waking up during the night, it's so dark. I immediately searched for mummy when suddenly something loud rang through my ears. I covered my ears, and tensed up as I got off the bed. The loud sound came again. Was it the monsters? I clutched Betty. Slowly, I opened the door. Daddy did something to the door, which is why the sounds were all gone.

I crept out of my room, and I saw a guy with black suit all over his body m. He held a black gun, like the ones that I played. And he was pointing it at daddy. Daddy was on his knees, and blood came out of his body. Are they playing a game?

Suddenly mummy pulled me into a room. She looked at me in the eye. I could see that something was wrong. She had tears on her face, and her hair was very messy.

"Don't cry, mummy," I patted her on the cheeks. She smiled, but tensed up as she looked around. Then she put her finger to her lips to stop me from talking. She pointed to the larger drawers.

"Go hide there," she pushed me to it.

"Is daddy playing a game with that guy?" I asked. She hushed me, and she nodded her head. She looked like she was about to cry again. Did I say something wrong?

"Yeah, and we are playing hide and seek so that daddy wouldn't catch us. Hide in there. I promise I won't tell anyone," she pushed me again. This time, I went into the drawers, and she covered me with clothes.
