Summary:
      Eren decides to make a trip from California to Florida to visit his parents for the holidays with Levi, his fiancé. However, instead of the usual plane ride two would usually take when making their way across the country of the US, he proposed they take a road trip, something neither one of them have yet to experience.

      "Okay, we have everything, right?" Levi spoke hastily as he shuffled through all of their bags and hopelessly glanced around the room, desperately trying to spot anything they might have missed.
      A thought occurred to him and he stood up abruptly, rushed to the bathroom, then groaned when he spotted the deodorant, toothpaste, and two toothbrushes laid out on the counter. He was about to grab everything to recklessly shove it all into their hygiene bag, but before he could, his wrist was gripped and gently pulled away, encased by a large and warm hand.

      Levi turned his head to his to lock onto reassuring forest-green eyes cast onto him, his fiancé staring down at him with a soft look of amused adoration. "We are keeping those out for tomorrow morning, babe. You know, when we are actually leaving." A chuckle followed his words, met in return by a frown.
      Levi had been obsessed with the trip for days leading up to it, going over everything like a mantra to assure the upmost level of preparation. They would be hitting the road in approximately nine hours.

      "Will we even have time to get ready? We have to leave by exactly seven A.M. What if our alarm doesn't–" "Levi, sweetheart, we will have time." Eren cut him off with a soft and smooth voice. "And, even if we do leave a bit later than scheduled, it's okay, we will get to our destination either way. Right?" He tried to calmly reason with his lover who was overcome with paranoia, trailing his hand from Levi's pale wrist to his shoulder which he comfortingly rubbed.

      His convincing words seemed to work, at least a bit, as Levi eventually let out a defeated sigh and dropped his head against Eren's broad chest, exhaustion replacing his prior adrenaline. Eren chuckled as he wrapped both of his arm's around Levi's thin waist, tilting his chin down to give Levi a small chaste kiss on his forehead.
      "Remind me again why we're doing this?" Levi spoke with dramatized exasperation, his question not holding any genuine seriousness, but Eren decided to answer it anyway. "It's going to be fun, babe, I promise. Neither one of us have done something like this before, and what's better than our first time being together? It's only a three and a half day drive."

      Eren held a cheerful tone in his voice while he spoke, but Levi only groaned at the reminder. "Three and a half days spent in a stuffy car and disgusting hotels? I'd rather swim." Both of them knew Levi was certainly being dramatic, but he couldn't help his evident distaste for the upcoming trip.
      Tomorrow morning they would be beginning their drive from San Diego, California—where they currently lived—to Miami, Florida, where Eren grew up, to stay with his family for the week of Christmas.

      In total it was a thirty-eight hour drive, give or take. But with the night rests at hotels, gas refills, and much-needed food stops, they calculated that it would take around three and a half days to get there between the two of them driving; even though Eren wouldn't entirely mind if they took their time—much to Levi's dismay.
